  4. Can you help ? I've got a copy of THE MAJESTICS - STRANGE WORLD - LINDA 111 on ebay at the minute and somebody has asked the question if it is an original or Repro/Later Issue ? - Has this been reissued/booted as I bought this myself as an original. It has a Maroon moulded/Plastic label (like some of the AMY/MALA records (i.e. not paper) but obviously I dont want to be calling it an original copy if it aint! Cheers Swifty p.s. pretty sure it has a 'bellsound' stamp but can't check 'til I get home.
  5. There's Judson Moore in sales at the moment -username Alfie 79 Cheers Swifty
  6. I'm sure you already know this but the re-issue has no address details on it . On the original the address runs along the bottom of the label in white. Thought I'd found an original in NY a few years ago , didn't even know it had been re-issued then , gutted ! Cheers Swifty

  9. Well here's my twopence worth , I like what I like and used to be very narrow minded to the point of when I was in my teens wouldn't buy a record if it were by a white artist! (does that make me racist even though I'm white ) but getting back to the question , my son George is 21 and loves a lot of the old 'Top 500' sounds , in fact one of his favourites is Sam Dees - Lonely for you baby (bit funky ?) and the likes of Al Green - keep on pushing love. We've had Funky Northern for a bloody long time and some I like and some I don't. Surely the likes of LOU PRIDE , JAMES LEWIS, BOBBY FRANKLIN, WORLD COLUMN, BLACK NASTY, EDDIE PARKER (Body Chains) etc. are funky sounds that are classics and have filled the floor at a 'Northern' do? I really think it very difficult to label any sort of soul (Read the Crossover thread!!!) but at the end of the day if the beat is right people will dance and if it aint they wont . Cheers Swifty p.s. I love a few tracks by SLAVE that would fill any dance floor

Actually I remember one was Innersection - let me love you/Im in debt to you - Innersection W/D Also got a couple from Blues & Soul and the one I remeber from them was The Falcons - I'm a Fool I must Love you , which i just bought again a couple of weeks ago. Happy days Swifty

  14. Tell them to get stuffed ! I recently sold some job lots on ebay and each was worth at least £50 and I got an average of £12 + Postage that I had put at £1.90 (Doh!) but I still sent them with a note telling the buyer that I hope they enjoy them! , that's how it goes . They are well out of order I Know this doesn't help you but I'll not use them Cheers Swifty
  15. Many thanks Mike , looks like a bit of serious reading this Nice one mate Cheers Swifty Had some nice 45's though !
  16. No you can't , b*ll*cks ! (actually you'll need an 'O' or two ! anyway at least I'm getting replies ( of no use ) Cheers Swifty
  17. Do you know what , when I re-read my post that's just what I thought , Bob Holderness I Think! Funny f**Ker Cheers Swifty
  18. Dont know if this is in the right section (please move if not) , Just need to know who BOB HOLDEN is or was , I'm pressuming he is/was a Radio DJ/Promoter in the states. The reason I ask is over the past few months various 45's I've bought have had his name either written or stamped on the labels and have usually been DJ/Promo copies . Does anyone know who he is/was ? Cheers Swifty P.S. if anyone does know him , will you tell him to stop writing all over the bloody labels !
  19. Crossover is all the records I had in the 70's/80's that I never used to play and ended up chucking them away , DOH! Swifty
  20. Headsy , I swear I never saw your offer mate and I apologise if I missed it , I would always reply wether I wanted it or not . Cheers Swifty
  21. NOW SORTED , THANKS TO ALL THAT REPLIED Cheers Swifty Anyone got an at least Ex copy of this for sale , demo would be nice but issue will be ok reasonable price though , please ! Money waiting (at right price) Cheers Swifty
  22. Kev , maybe a silly question but is the Martha Reeves the same record as the Marvin Gaye song? Cheers Swifty
  23. Thank you Gents , also just found some more info in Rogers 'Sharp End ' thread (Class Info as always!) which my copy is the same as i.e. the deadwax on the 'Without A Love' side is half the width of 'Before It's Too Late' side. So I think I can revert my ad back to an Original Thanks again Cheers Swifty
  24. Wonder if anyone can help me . I've got a little job lot of 6 Records on e-bay of some used & abused 45's which I've listed as USA originals , One of them is JACKIE DAY - BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE - MODERN 1028 (RED LABEL) as below (actual Record). Somebody has contacted me to say they think it's a boot , can anybody confirm it was booted on Red as in my JM book it says the re-issue was on a Green label with Instrumental on b side. Cheers Confused Swifty
