It frustrates the shit out of me when I see people selling Boots and not stating that they are . If you look at some of the sellers they are also selling some originals and will state that they are originals , so you cant believe that they dont know when they are selling a boot. Also if they have enough knowledge to state that a record has a Monarch stamp you would think that they do have a certain amount of knowledge about records. Cheers Swifty

Totally agree Kev , any publicity is good publicity! Things will move on inevitably but the main thing is the music and if they start off with the obvious FW etc. and enjoy them that may encourage them to look for other tunes, then hopefully bring some new blood onto the scene. Graham , you've obviously done nothing wrong and bought them in good faith , so I would have thought they are legally yours (unless the Police are involved and they can prove they were stolen) then you may have to return them and take a loss. Can the lad prove that they were his or it could even be a scam. Would you be prepared to sell them back at the price you paid ? Bought this blind off e-bay and arrived today . Mine is a Black & White label vg++ and the only other copy I could find was on youtube but is a Pale Blue & Black label. The other thing is the JERRY G. & CO text is a lot smaller on the youtube one. I dont really know anyting about this except the info thats on youtube. Can anyone enlighten me i.e. has it been played out? Value? has it been booted? Not even heard it yet ? Cheers Swifty

Interesting point Boogaloo , I quite often play records in the front room while the Mrs. is on the computer in the dining room (which is next door) and I can put some of my rarer stuff on and then some cheaper stuff , then I get a ' like that one' response or 'I could dance to that!', What I'm trying to say (waffle) is sometimes it needs somebody who has no idea of who or how much etc., who likes northern to maybe give you an inclination of what people might dance to. Nev , I have done research on these and that is why I asked the question mate MEL WILLIAMS - £100 JM - £50 TB - £35 GEMM now in my mind thats a big difference, nearly 300% JIMMY BO HORNE - £30 JM - £50 TB - £25 GEMM - 200% I just thought that this being a soul forum that people ( as a couple have ) may give me some guidance that's all. So are you saying that everyone who asks for a value on here shouldn't bother and just check the books , gemm etc. I thought this was the idea of a soul forum , to share knowledge. I realise it's not the ' Salvadors' or 'Arthur Willis' I'm asking about but I can't afford big ticket stuff , so I buy & sell lower end stuff but just want to do it right Take care Swifty P.S maybe there should just be a section for Valuations , then folks that don't want to chip in don't have to ?

Maybe I should have started a thread about the Javells! or One legged Midget Lesbian Blue eyed soul singers I Know they are not rare and I suppose most of you have these under the kitchen sink or in the kids playroom but would appreciate a bit of guidance from you informed people , please.
