  1. Cheers Miff , buggered if I could find it! , just read it all again and still not sure , mine is the earlier French issue with just Gil Scott Heron and 399A stamped ( approx 2ish mm from runout at approx 1'o'clock Watch out JM !) Cheers Swifty p.s. So have over the years have we come to a conclusion which is the first 45 (as taken off the album 'Winter in America' ?)
  2. Thanks Pete , yes the picture sleeve actually looks as if it's been stored for years and looks old but unused (if you know what I mean ) and the record is nice and minty. Cheers Swifty
  3. Just looked on popsike Boba and now more confused , as somebody states the French Pic. Sleeve version is the only original 45 but then there is another American copy where the guy is claiming it is the only original 45 also . Talking about the Strata-East labels. I know I used to play it off a Strata-East Album because I belive at the time it wasn't available on 45 ( I think!). Swifty
  4. Thanks Boba , I know someone mentioned the US promos but I seem to think it was thought they were Boots . Swifty
  5. Sorry ! I know this has been before but can't find it . Just got a copy of Gil Scott Heron - The Bottle on Strata East (French) Picture Sleeve. Is this the first 45 of the record.? Cheers Swifty
  6. Another record I'd forgotten about , had this years ago (never heard it out though), stummbled across it again a couple of months ago and bought an issue cheap. Then got a demo even cheaper . Old stylee Blue Eyed Northern - great arrangement imho , not everbody's cup of tea though. THE LEE GREENWOOD AFFAIR - THINK IT OVER - DOT Swifty

  11. Just played this for the first time in ages DEE DEE WARWICK - WHEN LOVE SLIPS AWAY - MERCURY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTMReBDY_wc Reminds me of Dusty , nice and cheap. Just reread that don't mean Dusty was nice and cheap ! Swifty
  12. Agree Boba , but don't you think sometimes rarity overtakes Quality , just because a record is rare doesn't make it good. I can understand people paying big bucks to finish a collection of labels because there is always that elusive number missing. Hey , this is ' The Strange world of Northern Soul ' Cheers Swifty ( who has no rare records at all !!) but I love what I've got)
  13. Bob , when I bought 'em they were well cheap 'cause it was in the days of all the classics ( Top 500) if you know what I mean, so to most they were average sounds but to me it has it all . I presume WEE was the local issue. anyway mate you have good taste Swifty
  14. Love this to bits , used to have a WEE issue , VEE JAY Issue & Demo , this in my mind is a classic, IMHO of course. THE BALLADS - I CAN'T SEE THE LOVE + Inst. Awesome tunage Swifty
  15. Bob , had this in a soul pack from Blues & Soul and always thought it was a good tune Swifty
  16. Most of them ! IMHO Swifty
  17. Boba , have sent you pm with apoligies , I misread your reply (too many wines) sorry mate Swifty
  18. Boba , mate , sometimes you just come across as not 'Suffering fools gladly' as we say over here? not being funny, because I read your input with interest , you are a very knowledgeable bloke , sometimes a bit harsh though ? Helmet On Then !!! Cheers Swifty
  19. Whoops ! accidentally posted another ! Durr! Lovely record and I need a new one , mine's f*cked Peace ! Swifty
  20. Another one of my expensive collection , this really is a great record imho ! it was a bit funky then although popular at Cleggy. I reckon you could have a weekender with tunes under £20 , don't you? anyways BETTY WRIGHT - IF YOU LOVED ME LIKE YOU SAY YOU LOVED ME -ALSTON i know there's a few copies in Louth , 'cause I was selling it for a £1 ( cost me 65p) Hey , I knew how to make money (not| !!)
