  1. Guilty as charged your Honor !!
  2. I was called in at lastminute.com for a Northern do at our local Cons club Dave and I knew that the stuff I had nobody who was going up there would know , so nipped home and thought a Motown set would suffice. Got back to the Club with mainly LPs and ended up playing the Marvelettes Destination Anywhere 4x as there were no lights on the decks and I couldn't see what the fook I was doing , thing was each time I played it the floor got busier. Ended up pissed and started playing stuff random and it seemed to work. Good job the Soul Police weren't there tho'.
  3. I had a few lists from him and it used to make me laugh when I read the do's and don'ts of ordering a record , i.e. not when Footies on TV and not between this time and that time as I won't answer the phone etc. actually put me off ordering things . Where did he get all his records ? did he actually go to the states to get them? be interested to know? Swifty

  5. Also had a Jimmy Bo Horne a some point , remember Rob Thomas telling me the title and said ' I've got that' and described the label , with that he was asking where it would be , ' at me Mams I reckon ?' so we drove from Louth to Droitwich , which in the mean time he'd bought me one of those 6 or 7 pint little barrels of beer with a tap on to drink on the way . Got there had a bite to eat then went up to the spare room (My old room, only stayed there 3 months) and I must have had 6-700 45's in boxes and a laundry basket , no luck !! I bet it was in one of those fooking Bin Liners DOH !!! Happy days hey ?
  6. I did and wish I'd put her in a fooking body bag !!
  7. Threw away 2 Bin Bags of 45's , all US Soul , in the late 80's , all stuff from soul packs etc that were deemed too Modern or Slow (i.e. Crossover now) as the ex Mrs. was nagging that they were taking too much space , Bitch !!!
  8. When I sell on SS , for one I don't really have to explain if it's rare or not , as most folk on here know if it is or isn't . I can put a youtube clip on for one record but don't know how to do more 'cause I'm a technophobe . At the end of the day if your record is at a reasonable price it will sell. I get sick of people putting the same one's on day after day that are too expensive to start with , no wonder they don't sell. Get a grip !!
  9. One I've only got on a LP (People UK) I think ? , which I've had since it came out in the early 70's , cost me about 19/6 . Used to play this track to people who all thought it was slow shite in the days when everyone wanted stompers but hey , class always comes through at some point ! DON GARDNER - WERE GONNA MAKE IT BIG Cheers Swifty
