  2. Just looking at another thread regarding UK boots which reminded me of a record I had probably 20 odd years ago, it was a UK style 45 (i.e. pronged centre/ridged if thats the correct terminology!) of ' Ski-ing in the Snow ' with a white label no print (can't remember what was on the other side) anyway in my wisdom I decided to wash some records, as you do and when I dried it I noticed the Vinyl peeled back a bit from the label, so as you do (bit like when you've got a scab I started picking it and to my amazement the 'kin Vinyl came away to reveal another record underneath, decided to try and play it and could just make out Creedance Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon rising (I think) - My question is 1/ were many records booted like this 2/ how the kin 'ell did they do it ? Cheers Swifty

  5. Thanks for the replies Folks , how do I tell if its a demo ? on mine It does show the date under the MAR-V-LUS wording but looking on the Gemm one that is spelt SAYLES that also has the same date printed and looks Identical , are these both demos? or do all MAR-V-LUS records all have the date on. Still worth $10 for a mint one eh? Cheers Swifty
  6. Sorry if this has been asked before but can somebody help a confused man , just bought a copy (Blind) off e-bay of JOHNNY SAILS - DONT TURN YOUR BACK ON ME - MAR-V-LUS 6000 and just been looking on gemm to see if the $10 was well spent and noticed some other ones for sale and looked at the label scans but they were printed JOHNNY SAYLES (Same Label/No. etc.) Obvioulsy a misprint , does it make one rarer than the other Cheers Swifty

  11. Went a couple of Years ago mate, didn't do any research before we went , so just walked for Miles and Miles down Broadway etc , found a couple of bits (not Rare but cheap) off some street seller, selling stuff CD's/Videos from boxes on a street Corner (Dee Dee Sharpe-Cameo LP/Jnr.Walker - Roadrunner) $2 each, but if you head down to Greenwich Village there's a few shops down there with bits to be had, In one shop (can't remember bloody name will see if I've got address when I get home and let you have it) they had a brilliant collection of Albums/12" and also a couple of Boxes of 45's behind the counter which the guy let me browse through and listen to them on the Decks, again nothing rare but cheap $5-10. There was another place nearby that had 1000,s of CD's in the main shop but downstairs 1000's of 45's but my Missus was getting bored by now (even though I tried to Involve her by looking through dusty cardboard boxes under the tables for 'any record by a bloke called Frank Wilson on a label called Soul' ) and she never bloody found one! anyway sorry to waffle on but will see if I have any of the address' and post them up. Cheers Swifty

  21. Right , this is just my very humble opinion , and I dont wish to p*ss off anybody in particular , but if it does , so be it what has Ian Levine done wrong , maybe he might of upset people by certain things he's done , but surely the man has had and found more records than most the of people on here (I'm Lincs Leauge 14 if there was one ) so if the bloke is bringing out Northern Sounding music , whats upwith that!, some are good some aren't good but we don't have to buy them , do we? I'll shut up now 'cause the Vinos kickin' in, but just listen to man , he doesn't need our money! Swifty
