  1. The thing is Lads, that I've seen people do this before and be told basically to look in the books and sort it themselves. So I didn't want that sort of reaction , but if you chaps can give me a bit of guidance I'll pop a few up for your perusal EDDIE RAY - GLAD I FOUND YOU - PRIX (No Address) - EX CHUCK EDWARDS - I DON'Y WANT NO COMPANY -RENEE - EX FRANK EVERETT - SPELLBOUND -BIG SMOKY - EX HAROLD SMITH - IF I EVER LOSE YOUR LOVE -LU-MAR -EX LITTLE HELEN - CAN'T GET ENOUGH - SOULTOWN 108 -EX THE AMBASSADORS - I NEED SOMEONE - UPTOWN -VG+ (a few marks but palys well) as i said , I know it's not rare stuff .anyway, that's a few of them and if you can give me some idea it would be much apprecaited Thanks Swifty
  2. I'll try and keep this simple. I'm looking to sell a few records (not big ticket stuff as don't have any) but just stuff I either have duplicates of or are just not my cup of tea. Just to pay for stuff I'd rather have. My problem is (and this is in no way a dig at anybody) when i look at either JM or TB's books the prices on some are so different,so what do I do (no pun intended !) I do realise it's all subjective i.e. Condition/Demand etc. 1. do I pick an average price 2. Look on Gemm/Popsike 3. Offers (bearing in mind I would think nothing is worth above 100/150 quid) Sellers , how do you price yours ??? Cheers Swifty

  9. I have my moments , usualy knackered from work (Monday/Tues) and weekend boozing but come wed/thursday start getting a bit twitchy (for Music ) and the missus loves playing stupid games on the PC , then I say I'll just pop a couple of records on , then 3 hours later (& a couple of bottles of Red) we end up having an embarrasing dance (not at the time!) then wake up in the morning and pick some of the records up (not in covers!!) and think did I really like that but I will never get bored or tired of it (and the Records !!!! ) Swifty
  10. Thanks to All for your help , much appreciated ! Swifty
  11. Cheers Gene , very helpful mate , whilst on the subject is there any difference in UK & USA grading ( I wouldn't have thought there was but...) , the reason I ask is I have on quite a few occasions had records that were listed on ebay as Ex and were a bag of Shite Thanks again Swifty
  12. A few questions as I'm sorting out some records I need to sell. 1/ Is there a Grading standard that everybody works to ? 2/ How do prices depreciate according to condition ? i.e. If a record is worth £100 M- then what is that record worth at Ex or VG+ , is there a sliding scale ? 3/ How do you grade a record , what is the criteria ? Help !! Cheers Swifty

  22. We got married in July ( both 2nd time) and our playlist went like this Roy C - Shotgun Wedding - (For a laugh While we were waiting for Denise to arrive , went over most peoples heads that one!) Jesse James - At Last - (when she arrived and walked down) Little Stevie - Contract on Love - (after we signed the book thing) Shades of Blue - Oh How Happy - ( when we walked out) to be honest about 95% of the people there had never heard any of these before , so didn't know what the fook we were on about but it meant a lot to us anyway good luck Cheers Swifty
  23. Ian , hope your well , can you tell me how many copies were pressed of 'The Interpretations' & '1st Amendment' ? and are they now deleted ? Cheers Swifty
  24. I know Ian gets a lot of stick on here but I feel I have to say my bit, I think it was one of the threads in November where I asked Ian his favourite Records and how many records he still had , he replied with a list of great records and the fact that he had rather a lot of vinyl (80,000 Singles i think ) I (tongue in cheek ) asked he fancied doing me a 'SOUL PACK' , well he pm'd me and offered me 300 records for 300 quid + 30 carriage and I snapped his hand off. He promised me loads of Obscure stuff and plenty of 20/30 quid records , well they arrived before christmas and I would just like to say it's the best 300 quid i've ever spent , loads of 60's/70's Obscure/ Northern/modern/Funk/Sweet/ and a few British (Cameo Parkway/Black Atlantic/Pye (Yelow/Red) Soul as described and I could pick out 10 Records now that I could flog for the 300 quid I spent , so what I'm saying is that 'the man did me good' and i really appreciate that and if any of you need to add to your collections have a word with him 'cause I know he's got plenty to sell ! Thanks again Ian , nice one!! Saving up for my next pack as we speak
