Have just bought 'The Parliaments - A New Day Begins - Revilot RV228' and have noticed that this also came out on Atco, what I'd like to know is 1. Is it the same record/cut 2. which is the harder of the 2 to get 3. what sort of price for each label p.s. cracking record ! Thanks in advance Swifty

Totally Agree , well said that man The problem I have is that I dont go to many do's like I used to , so dont really know what the going rate is on records, so when I want to sell a few (which is just to get some dosh to buy more) I tend to look at the guides (for Guidence !) but I get confused even further as I have both JM & TB guides which on a lot a records totally contradict each other. i.e 1 record in JM last book (not the newest) is £300 then in new book £100 and in TB's book £30. So basically I dont know what to ask in the first place and dont want to look a tw*t on SS (I can do that without selling records!) The other thing is I dont have any big ticket records so the ones I want to sell most people on here probably have already got them. so a SS Guide would be a great idea albeit a bloody difficult task to do . A lot of AL GREEN stuff gets me but the one that I always play when feeling low (or pissed !) is 'HOW DO YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART' - reminds me of me dad Swifty

John , or should I call you Einstein have tried the above formula with the Harold Smith Record £50 + £43.55 + £26.66 = £120.21 divided by 3 = £40.07 this could be the future of pricing !!! The problem is though Graham on some records I've looked through a lot of sites and not found some of them, which then makes you think this must be quite hard to find , all I want to do is put them up for sale and not make a tw*t of myself as I'm not as knowledgeable as most on here Thanks for the reply mate Swifty

I'll try and keep this simple. I'm looking to sell a few records (not big ticket stuff as don't have any) but just stuff I either have duplicates of or are just not my cup of tea. Just to pay for stuff I'd rather have. My problem is (and this is in no way a dig at anybody) when i look at either JM or TB's books the prices on some are so different,so what do I do (no pun intended !) I do realise it's all subjective i.e. Condition/Demand etc. 1. do I pick an average price 2. Look on Gemm/Popsike 3. Offers (bearing in mind I would think nothing is worth above 100/150 quid) Sellers , how do you price yours ??? Cheers Swifty

I have my moments , usualy knackered from work (Monday/Tues) and weekend boozing but come wed/thursday start getting a bit twitchy (for Music ) and the missus loves playing stupid games on the PC , then I say I'll just pop a couple of records on , then 3 hours later (& a couple of bottles of Red) we end up having an embarrasing dance (not at the time!) then wake up in the morning and pick some of the records up (not in covers!!) and think did I really like that but I will never get bored or tired of it (and the Records !!!! ) Swifty

Cheers Gene , very helpful mate , whilst on the subject is there any difference in UK & USA grading ( I wouldn't have thought there was but...) , the reason I ask is I have on quite a few occasions had records that were listed on ebay as Ex and were a bag of Shite Thanks again Swifty

A few questions as I'm sorting out some records I need to sell. 1/ Is there a Grading standard that everybody works to ? 2/ How do prices depreciate according to condition ? i.e. If a record is worth £100 M- then what is that record worth at Ex or VG+ , is there a sliding scale ? 3/ How do you grade a record , what is the criteria ?
