The soulie's that want to listen to something different are attending smaller venues,which are generally badly attended.The way forward may be to do what some oldie's nights are doing at the moment,which is to have a smaller room playing underplayed/rare/x over etc within the same venue such as Bentinck,Riley Smith Hall etc. -
Went to a couple of these,great memories and at the time loads of newies,Velvet hammer-Happy- springs to mind.

Always liked this record,last copy to go through ebay was on 17/4/09 and fetched £21,but only vg copy, hope this helps.

I've got one exactly the same,from Germany with misspelled Toronadoes on the front and label's reversed and R stamped on both side's.Probably sent over for American forces in the 60s,play's like it was made yesterday.

Just wondered if anyone had thought about the smoking ban as a reason for attendances down.We don't smoke ourselves,but a lot of people do,has it made a difference?
