  1. Excellent Have to make sure I'm in on Tuesday! Nice to see the FB's getting a little bit more recognition for all the great sounds they contributed to!!
  2. Still after a copy of this. Thought I'd got one some time ago but someone was a bit quick off the mark and when record turned up it was "I Can't Stop You" Sent back and refunded Despite being a relatively cheap don't seem to see it listed very often, although I believe there was one in someone's sale list on here recently which, of course, I missed So, has anyone got a copy, (must be VG+ or better), of Set Me Free they'd like to sell?
  3. Great record that mark and the other side "Sweep It Out In The Shed" aint too bad either! As to the original question re Monique, can't say I've seen it listed recently but JM's sez £500 and I'd be suprised if you'd get any change from that for a minter. According to Popsike last one went for $565 last year (US seller) but it was only in VG condition! Top choon by the way
  4. Silly me It was actually Volume 4 I bought! Anyone on here got the first 3?
  5. I'd agree with that - works every time
  6. 'kin hell - There's one born every minute
  7. You beat me to it. Isn't it "No Time For You" though? Deffo double A sider
  8. 444 now
  9. I bought it when it first came out (must have been 74ish) ! Little bit on the "modern" side but some great tracks on there. Still give it the occasional spin Another great compiliation that came out round about the same time was "Motown Disco Classics - Volume II". Some great tracks on there but can't ever recall seeing Volume I Anybody else?
  10. Both great records which I never tire of hearing, in fact I might just give LIASB another spin at Capone's on Saturday night
  11. 2 more: JUMPING JOAN
  12. Nowt wrong with your playlists mate - I'll vouch for that
  13. Velvelettes - Cleethorpes Weekender - 2001 or 2002?
  14. R Dean Taylor "Lets Go Somewhere Baby" racial prejudice overtones B Side of "There's A Ghost In My House" on UK Tamla and far superior IMO !
  15. Well he did last time I went to The 100 Club !
  16. Jackie Wilson "Stop Lying" A South Essex Soul Club anthem hey Taff, as spun by Mr Paul McKay
  17. I agree with you Kev - when I first heard it I was like woaaaaaah When you hear a record like this for the first time makes you realise why you got into soul in the first place. One of the reasons I'll, hopefully, be at The 100 Club this Saturday keeping my fingers crossed that Butch will spin it!
  18. Looks like someone might have doodled this one in class, when they should have been paying attention
  19. Is it a Mamsie Pamsie tune though Chrissie ?
  20. Don't know whether this has been done before (if it has apologies) but, as such a great very rare record, can anyone give me any further information/history, i.e. when, where discovered? by whom? how many known copies in existence? where first played at? and who else besides Butch has got em? IMO top record on the scene today
  21. Seem to remember 3 or 4 years ago it was getting some turntable action (in London) but don't hear it now. Great cheapie
  22. I also had it 3 or 4 years, before talk on here led me to flip it. Deffo double A sider IMO
  23. Think you mean Ruby Andrews! Agreed! Great record that it is I've got fed up of hearing it. (Can't tell the missus though, it's her favourite tune)
  24. Not very often eh Gene? I'd be very surprised if it goes for less than that, even in the condition it's in! What would a mint one go for these days, even with a credit crunch? £1,500+ would have thought?
  25. Pete, that's a very kind offer. I'll PM you !
