  1. Sure a previous thread covered this! The maroon one which has Deesu in a smaller font is, I understand, a boot although it appears to have the right numbers etc. scratched in the deadwax. (I know cos I've been told my maroon one is a boot ) According to JM's guide, the original is dark green but there's also a very good counterfeit same colour. (What's the difference between a boot and a counterfeit? ) Just be very careful and if in doubt get a scan and seek advice from one of the experts on here!
  2. Cos when a tune came on and it's one of those, you all know, rush to the dancefloor jobs obliterating anything in your way, you certainly aint got time to find your partner, or even less "would you like to dance madam?", given that most records are round about 2:30 ish
  3. Hobby, Passion, Addiction and some
  4. I'll defo go along with that
  5. Yvonne Baker - "You Didn't Say A Word" ! Don't seem to hear it much now - played everywhere 4 or 5 years ago.
  6. Me neither
  7. Little John "Heartbreakin Time" on Martay. Not got access to my "box" at the moment but think it's something like 1:52
  8. "Baby" on Red Bird - absolute top notch tune (imo) and one I've always wondered why doesn't get more spins. RIP Ellie
  9. Judy Street - "What" Didn't that make the top 20, 75ish ?
  10. I'm surprised he hasn't already done that as he seems to be on a mission to re-invent the scene as he thinks it should be
  11. +1 Top notch northern imho
  12. Sure I saw one in sales section of SS @ £300 recently? Surely there's no way this is rare enough to fetch £600+, great recor though it is

  14. Anyone got one/seen one for sale please?
  15. Great tip Steve. Just bought one Anymore?
  16. Think it was Des Parker spun this last night at Solid Hit Soul. JM's sez £40. Is this a realistic value at present? and Is one of those relatively cheap tunes you never seem to appear?
  17. My personal favourite at the moment Norman Connors "Take It To The Limit" on Arista as heard from the Cleethorpes weekender, spun by that man Steve Womble What a record for £8! Will come up with two more when I've given it some more thought
  18. Wish I'd been there Steve, sure I would have enjoyed it too My favourite PIR probably Billy Paul "Only The Strong Survive" but so much brilliant stuff on that particular label
  19. Cheers Taffy & John! Tommy Ridgley mega expensive rarity (of course) Have it on a cd somewhere! What a nerd I am Are Gloria Edwards & Gloria Taylor one and the same then?
  20. Gloria Edwards version on a cd compilation I got from the North Herts Irish Centre Triple Birthday Bash (Toby, Taffy & Martin) from 2008. One of Taffy's contributions! Presumably Gloria Taylor & Gloria Edwards are one and the same? Not listed in JM's so assume not released on a single? I'm racking my brains as I'm sure someone else did it? Can't think who and I could have sworn it was an obvious one? Anyone help out with any more info?
  21. Suppose I could but just can't imagine how boring life would be
