  1. As in The Four Sights "Love Is A Hurting Game That I Can't Win" Can't find any info on this label and I'm intrigued Is it a Detroit label? Anything else of note on Shy-Soul? Where/when was The Four Sights first played?
  2. Haven't heard that many of the "younsters" but the last one I heard Joel Maslin at The 100 Club. 29 (I believe) and played an outstanding set

  4. Great choice , Can't recall hearing that before. Must add that to the wants list
  5. Barney, the Ellie Greenwich is a great record Can't understand why it's never had more exposure? Perhaps it's cos it's not the easiest to get hold of, although it's relatively cheap (compared to big ticket items). Took me a while to find one and been spinning it at Capones since we started 2 years ago. Only time I can remember hearing it elsewhere was when Roger Banks spun it (but can't remember where at now)!
  6. pm'd you!
  7. Still after this - anyone?
  8. Always wondered who discovered: Servicemen Salvadors ?
  9. Me too! I think it's far superior to Bernie Williams version and a damn sight cheaper Which one was first?
  10. There's one born every minute!
  11. Very interesting to see what you're doing Sue. Always been interested in the fashions side meself! Pete Smith, (a very knowledgeable, helpful and likeable chap ), on here is probably someone who might help fill you in with a some of the info. you're after. If you can get his assistance make sure he regales you with the tail of his long leather coat (they were all the fashion mid 70's) - it's bloody hilarious Good luck with your project!
  12. I'd deffo agree on that one. Such a bloody fast tempo you just can't keep up with it
  13. Great to read some info on this Butch "biggie". Dave - Thanks for sharing with us all. Well done mate
  14. Saw him at Leeds 1973 with The Faces - awseome live act!
  15. That's well worth a watch. Best film I've seen in ages
  16. Dave - Don & Ron - now that's a fooking stormer (even when played early in the evening at 9.30!)
  17. Conversation at nighter went something like this: Stubbsy - "Paul what's this?" Paul McKay - "Bloody hell you should know this, it's in your box!" Mind you we had had a few sherberts by that time I've got all my U.S. Northern/70's stuff on a spreadsheet, but haven't got round to doing my motown stuff yet. Keep telling myself I must do!
  18. Cover version of the Shirelles is it?
  19. Underrated and underplayed - Betty Swann "Lonely Love" - on Money 129. Great record. Cheap as well!
  20. Bloody hell! The Russians buying up Nortern Soul now as well as football clubs
  21. Anyone got one they wish to part with? Got to be VG+ or better!
  22. No brainer! I'd settle for just the best collection and not worry about the DJ'ing bit
  23. It is in JM's latest US record guide, not the one on boots. It's one of those with pictures of the boot/original at the back but on the page where the record is listed the reference to the pics is actually under the wrong record!
