  1. Well bugger me, for once these responses have left me lost for words.
  2. E (apart from certain Soulies in 'The Disco Room' at Bradford) had little relevance to me or the Soul scene in general Steve, which is why....do I need to?
  3. See, there's another one.
  4. Don't bite Mace. You are aren't you?
  5. Dave - we are talking right now, which negates your 'uncivilised times' angle - and if you think that Scrabble and Facebook have more relevance as a post on the SS forum than my 'loopy' posts then.... ...I'll leave that open to the board. The above post now proves my 'degenerating' thoughts above. Cheers Dave.
  6. You see, I'm spotting the pattern here on this thread. Whereby I post a harmless, maybe at a glance humorous post, and get a tad of light hearted stick, whereby I respond in a light hearted manner....and then it just degenerates. I'm not having a pop at Mace and the other lad nor their responses to this post but I think I've just seen where I maybe going wrong on here. Mmmmmm!
  7. Dave - plays Scrabble and Facebook. Not a good CV Dave.
  8. I'm kidding mate, only kidding, I'll bet you're a lovely lad.
  9. Shame he got it wrong with you though ay Mace?
  10. Mace, you're bang on mate, I got a little lost in there somewhere but thanks for ruining what could have been a very entertaining post mate. Love Barry
  11. Die playing what you can afford then lads, which could make for a shit night out these days. Now I understand that will bring responses from the 'quality £5 Soul' boys but those of you who just would like to hear the stuff you can't at nighters, in a bar, will understand. We all have collections that prove our worth, our devotion to this thing and we all work to a budget - so, where is the downside to playing a track that we will never obtain on a cd to an appreciative crowd? This kind of mentality is what stops many people from playing Northern out, it stilts NS' progression in some ways. You can be a millionaire every week down your local bar and enjoy this music fully, with others that enjoy it too for what it is - it's fecking great hip shaking music after all. How? By taking your thumb out of your mates arse, and playing cd's. Don't Keep The Faith - Spread It! Remember?
  12. Steve - the old 'Equations Game' is a good 'un - try it sometime - that was just a flash entry you know!? (and I don't often give the old avatars a work out mate, that bast*rd was just for you)
  13. a = age b = collection c = dj mates So a + b + c = d the higher the value of d = similar quotiant respect You with me? Now divide d by e e being an owd c*nt, one not up on his Hot Box theorum and unable to kick it with the youngsters on the floor, even with the assistance of talc (f), which now just hinders matters. So we have: a + b + c divided by d without the assistance of e or f (f being once a positive factor, now a minus) Which gives us the formula for being a deflated has been with feck all but their memories and bad knees as: A + B + C divided by D - E + F
  14. Heartfelt and unargueable. More posts like this please.
  15. There are just people that worry about what the next bloke will think about your taste and available expenditure. F*ck him - believe in yourself. Easy.
  16. Good shout, I was a big fan of Marvin's Southern Soul material in the 80's but kinda lost touch after that. Any Marvin info folks?
  17. Listen. I'm about to PM Pikeys Dog about his response, as it is the first time anyone has bitten to the extent of calling me a c*nt. The last thing on my mind when I pose these annoyances (to some anyhow) is that when I do I position myself into such a bad place that a good Soulie, that I no doubt Pikey is, feels that he has to call me a c*nt on a public forum. Now Pikey, mate, I must apologise for worming myself into a position whereby you felt the need to give it the big 'un. I mean that, honestly but next time you feel the need, just PM me and call a c*** to my fingers. PM for you.
  18. I ask the question simply to reveal piss poor answers from people like yourself prikiey.
  19. You may be right lads, I'm in the early stages of this project and if you knew how difficult it is to interview Gerry, you'd understand. It is great pic though innit?
  20. 1963 for the lads that care.
  21. I've just started to collate information about one of my mates, Gerry Kenny aka The Minister Of Noise, Sir Freddie Viadukt etc with a view to writing his biography and as I have done so I have found that Gerry used to play in the 60's for a band from Leigh (Lancashire) named 'The Beat Boys'. Here they are: Check Georgie out second left, his first band. Leigh-Boy and proud of it.
  22. The post I made about the use of the word 'Revival' against 'Re-union' was wholeheartedley meant in the way I stated it. I understand that my usual view-point can be open to interpretation but in this case I did in no way intend it to be a slight toward the only bloke on her that 'gets' where I am coming from - and I pmed him to say so. Revival smacks of money, Re-union sounds right to me - end of. Have I mis-read the responses? As I would never diss anyone in the manner I feel that it may be read that I have, surely you can see that? ps I am in no way getting stressed over this - okay?
  23. I'm not sure if the question was too big for some of you to answer, but I must say the replies on the whole (apart from the positive ones, but I would say that wouldn't I?) were poor. Keep at it lads.
  24. G'night.
  25. ...er.. hang on! My input on this board regards this scene may come across simply as pissed up and ill-thought out views of a rambling clueless idiot. I assure you they are.
