  1. I'm not making judgements btw Ian, just trying to find out others views.
  2. Ta for that Sebastian.
  3. Speaking of 12"s played @ Wigan - Dave Evison used to play George Benson's - 'On Broadway' (think it got his No. 1 'Newie' in '81).
  4. It used to get battered - they booted it with Janice on the flip in the end.
  5. I used to get Blackbeat but must have missed 14 - anyone got a scan?
  6. So - format over song.
  7. I know but at least Gentelmen and Thier Lady had vocals in it - I'm astounded that MV got a ply @ Wigan.
  8. What were his other releases Sebastian? The only other thing I have on Charm City is She Devil - 'She Devil' an old (but cool) funk spin of Searlings.
  9. ...spot on, I'm pleased for you mate
  10. Jesus! Really? Was he p*ssed!?
  11. Have a good birthday mate? Bad head?
  12. I'm not having the Curtis Hairston bit Nick - vocally too far apart.
  13. I thought Curtis Anderson was Curtis (How Can I Tell Her?)
  14. For 'pressing' read 'format'.
  15. Ovo - agreed.....but you know the prediliction with 7" vinyl over 12" vinyl on the NS scene!? If a 7" version is an edited version of the version released on the 12", does this qualify as the original edit? I ask as surely this means we value the pressing over the song, which can't be right - can it? Discuss.
  16. Richard lives in St Helens nowadays....there's a big conversation in there that I'm opting out of haha. I used to stock Voices stuff was never offered a Donald Albert 7" but am not saying that there isn't one, just that I've never seen one sold or offered in all these years.
  17. I'm sure there was/is no 7" - but I'd love to be proved wrong - can you dig it out fella?
  18. Perhaps we should boot a pitched up Carstairs!?
  19. Peter Lawson Peter
  20. Didn't Peter pitch a George Blackwell up on a boot?
  21. Just had a look online, found a usb cassette mullarky - I'll grab that. Cheers
  22. How are you digitising the cassettes Chalky? I have a full collection of the old cassette soul magazine 'Soul On Sound' from the early 80's here that should be put online - great interviews, quaint adverts (dinnertime disco's etc), North and South round ups
  23. Okay! Playlist may have thrown me a bit, very Cricket Club.
