    I remember doing my first 'big' do as it were in the mid 80's with Ray Rose and Kev Edwards and was terribly nervous, felt all eyes were on me etc - I had lined up to open with a Darryle Chin - Baja Pacifica 7". Anyway I turn round to straighten my box up as Kev is finishing and he's on the mic - hands over to me - I give it a bit of blurb and hit the Start button. Darryle Chin bangs out.....at 33 rpm. Fecking Ray Rose had changed the speed just before I opened. I died.

He was 67. A representative for Duke said the performer died Monday night in Los Angeles. Duke was being treated for chronic lymphocytic leukemia.     I'm not talking about 'uniforms' or anything else that anyone else has ever done or wore on this scene Mark - I'm talking about 'my' scene as this is what this is to me. I'm talking about how I see how this scene has developed me as a person, it's not done me one bit of harm - and made me fairly un-shockable in life too haha. If ever at one point a bloke in daft pants changes your view on this scene - then, sorry, you need to get a grip.
