  1. Didn't read it regularly since the early 90's but it was like an old dog, just nice having it there.
  2. Ian spends his time on the EMS board presently.
  3. I had no idea of this track and I loved it - until the 'Popp' break that is - !! I would definately have been dancefloor side when it got played though, but I think the break would have left me stood cold - courts out.
  4. Thanks.
  5. Alledgedly.
  6. Richard.
  7. I remember a certain mega star dj offering me an EMI of 'When He's Not Around' for £150.00 at Rotherham - I may have been young but I wasn't stupid.
  8. I bottomed out at £130, good job I did ay?
  9. I was bidding on the last one I saw on Ebay about 3 month back, it went for £160 I think.
  10. ...my 'Keep It Modern' patch - many thanks mate, it's spot on.
  11. I have the 12" but not a sound clip - fairly big for me at Bradford in the early 90's.
  12. Here's the Devon, one on Ebay presently, didn't know it but I've copied and pasted the link- I don't have one of the Chantelle but it used to work a Modern dancefloor back in the day. https://media.putfile.com/DEVON-RUSSELL-MAK...-BELIEVE-IN-YOU
  13. Used to at Bradford, and still, play a UK version by 'Chantelle'.
  14. Lovely track-listing. Did you know Viola's 'Littel Girl' was about prostitution? Puts a whole new slant on the song.
  15. I went to watch Slave in Glasgow in the early 80's and was reliably informed that Larry was their bass player for that tour - got to meet 'em but didn't get chance to speak directly to him to see if was true or not.
  16. Great stuff, cheers.
  17. Thick old thing, I used to salivate at what was in it.
  18. Think I may be wrong with The Pages, that was on 'Modern Sign Of The Times' or summat - didn't it still have the c/u names on some tracks too.
  19. That's the monkey - w/label, terrible sleeve, 'bout a £10 spot when it came out ('82/83) or am I dreaming? but worth every bean. Doug Parkinson, The Pages, Roy Dawson on the Modern side too.
  20. Is it not called 'Up All Night', I've got it buried somewhere - it has the Deadbeats - 'There'll Be No Second Chance, Ty Karim, Cecil Washington etc - an 60's biggies and a modern side - crackin album.
  21. Buy the 12", much better bump out of a 12" than a 7" - it's what's in the groove that counts an' all that.
  22. You've just burst a memory there - I ran a small record shop when I left school, before Hott Waxx Records, and used to be sent a similar thing from the States but without the scans if I remember correctly - what would that have been?
  23. A fave of mine too.
