  1. I sold my copy to Bob Jeffries 20 years ago then bought it again 10 years later https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/lps.htm I have seen copies at the Kilburn Record Fair recently.
  2. Thanks for the comments 123, much appreciated. Here's a few flyers from late 8ts in London, I will try and upload more in the coming weeks - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/gallery/gig.ads.htm
  3. Just added a new mix from Johnny Reckless - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/mixes.htm + revised the articles section.
  4. You're welcome Nick and thanks for listening. Great record the Rance Allen, I first heard Richard Searling play this. The album also has the tracks 'Can't Get Enough' and 'I Feel Like Going On', an album well worth purchasing.

  6. This year's podcasts have now been uploaded, featuring modern and northern (last month a Mike Terry special). All available for download, enjoy - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/podcasts.htm Thanks Mark G
  7. Here's a soundbyte from my copy - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/lps.htm
  8. I have the 45 Mark but don't know what its worth.
  9. Just letting you know that I've recently added a mix by Ian Wright at Independent Movement - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/mixes.htm I will also be uploading recent archived podcasts including modern and northern shows over the next week or so - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/podcasts.htm All the best Mark
  10. I have both the 45 and 12's (including the mirage copy). All are badly pressed. I have always prefered 'Virgo Princess' on the flip.
  11. It could be Sandy Barber on Olde World. Great album and the 12" has the excellent 'Remember Me' on the flip.
  12. Here's an article that was printed for Soul Underground from 1987 by Keb. It's a pdf file I'm afraid but its a fairly good read - https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/music/articles.htm
  13. For those that used to attend the weekly modern soul sessions (Soul Sanctuary) at Jools Wine Bar, Edgware Rd I have uploaded a few mixes from 1988. Residents Simon Dunmore and Les Fisher with guests Ian Clark (sadly not much of this set was taped), Simon Murray, Ivor Jones and Gary Dennis. Check out https://www.independentmovement.co.uk/ Their sets are in the mixes section and the flyers are in the gallery. I'll also post up the London Soul Circular newsletters from the late 8ts in the near future with contributions fron Robin Salter, Chris Huggins etc Enjoy !
  14. I also like the slow quirky instrumental on the flip 'Carol's Carol'. My copy has 'A short lived Lynchburg group' written on it.
  15. I hope some of this money goes towards a decent hifi Chris
  16. I don't know what I'm more shocked by, the fact that it took a while to sell the 45 or someone prefering the inferior 12" version.
  17. Great new mix of soul and jazz funk from Sadar just added to https://www.independentmovement.co.uk More of this from Sadar next weekend (5 July) at the epicurean lounge with Rahaan. Hope to see some of you there.
  18. He asked via the southport forum if I was still in touch with you, he then said about getting your number. Maybe he wants to report on Wimbledon from your front room 200 miles away again.
  19. Great mix just added from the man behind bringtheheat, Sean Sounds.
  20. Nice one Simon, I'll try and track him down.
  21. I'm just about holding on to what little hair I have left myself Robin. I only just recently put that Time Is Right coat in some charity shop. I should of taken it over to Ibiza for Dave, I did take some early Cut It Out lists over there on one of my visits. I actually spoke to Mr Browning yesterday, he's well as ever. I presume Big Jim is still hibernating in Rickmanworth. You still selling records in Bristol Mike ?
  22. Kev has asked me for your no. Chris, Notts Forest's...errr I mean Man U's no.1 fan
  23. That's fxxkin Hilarious Was he just fed up with it all to sell all his records ? I've not seen him since the first soul essence I went to about 8-9 years ago. He was with Neil (is he still with Tina ?). Graeme had a box of albums in his car to flog. He was quite high up on John Anderson's pecking order I remember. (I'm sure Simon M can enlighten us about that).
  24. Saw Clive the other week in his restaurant, Daybreak was playing when I got there Them diners are treated to some good music in there.
