Of course people can comment on a movie they haven't seen, they are not commenting on the movies content, they are commenting on the perceived impact on some thing they hold quite precious and to think people shouldn't or don't is quite na¯ve.
Are you championing a film or are you campaigning against peoples urge to comment because this forum is the sheer essence of comment is it not?
I find it both normal and quite healthy that we, as soul fans, feel strong enough to comment even if a lack of eloquence some times makes us just look a little silly but this is not to ever overshadow a real wish to protect passionately the Northernsoul Scene that we have invested so many years of our lives with.
I have often read on this thread "It's only a film", that is the biggest cop out ever and the philosophy of those who either don't care or don't fully understand.
The film makers have every right to make the film and we all know that a movie or a book will be written with "Poetic license"
Soul Source is the leading internet forum for our genre and the film makers have dipped their toes into our water, we have every right to comment and even more right to voice our concerns be they perceived or real!
Voicing an opinion based on care does not make any one stupid.
To the film makers on here, you should tread lightly on our shoulders.
