While chatting in Oxford St outside the 100 club on Sat night, the conversation got around to who had sat on or broken what rarity. I rater foolishly left my record box open one night after spinning a few tracks at home while the kids were out of the way in bed...... When I finally got out of bed (about 2 hrs after the kids) I found that my record box lid had been knocked shut and had pinged a big chunk from Ace Spectrum that was at the front of the box.... A lesson that I have learnt is always put a crap pressing at the front of the box and always close the lid when children are around. Now its you turn....

6TS 100 Club 32nd Anniversary Inc Kent - Pied Piper World Debuts
Andyontherock commented on Ady Croasdell's article in Event News
Brilliant news Ady, looking forward to the 100 Club and getting to listen to more undiscovered gems. Excellent news. You sure are the soul detective when it comes to finding those lost gems. See you soon. -
Leicester Oddfellows 1984 Anniversary Improved Video
Andyontherock replied to Mark Jones's topic in All About the SOUL
I don't think I ever missed one, even went to the very first one at the Electric theatre near the old bus station. Like most people say this Niter and the TOTW Stafford got me hooked good and proper. Mind you, did get a tad warm and the dance floor was always packed, so was good to have a social at Leicester on the Friday followed by as much dance floor space as you dare use, dancing all night to the latest rarities at Stafford on the Saturday. You just couldn't wish for more. I do remember doing Leic on the Friday, Stafford on the Sat and then going up to Morecambe on the Sunday for an all dayer......... -
Ady and Winstone.........So which way DO you go to get to Marylebone Station ???

The 100 club is always worth the trek, always a friendly welcome from the regulars. The music is always guaranteed to be outstanding, but if you fancy a chin wag you can always pop outside on to Oxford St and have a laugh at all the pissed up states trying to get home in dodgy cabs and those three wheeled bike things that look like they have been peddled from Thailand. No but seriously the 100 Club has changed quite a bit since the 80's, it used to be strictly members only ( and I still have my card), and the only way for it to keep going is to let the general public in, there are a few muppets every now and again, but they dont tend to stay too long and looking back I do remember a few odd occasions in the early days that you had people arsing around on the dance floor spilling drinks and falling asleep pissed on the stage, so it still is the same as it was, I just think that we forgot what states that we got in to some times in our younger days !!! Last Saturday was brilliant, and I will return time and time again to the 100 club, I love it, I quite like to compare it ( quite aptly) to a comfortable pair of shoes.......

Yeah, remember it well from Stafford, First night it got played about three times, pickle was spinning out of control to it as I remember (bless him), think it was Dave Thorley and Pat Brady that played it. I've got a copy (not for sale though I'm affraid) Dont think a paid a lot for it, can't really remember even buying it, but a brilliant track. Never seen it for sale, but Manship has it in his book at £30.00 Hope you get a copy real soon Andy

Hi there, if you dont get any luck here on soulsource, there is a web site I know will be able to point you in the right direction. It is 192.com you will have to pay a small amount to get a limited amount of searches, but if you know his wifes name, you can chech the marriage register, then you can find him on the electoral role, it may even give you his phone No. Hope you find him Andy on the rock

Hi Andy, Great to see your name. Always wondered what happend to you, where you living now? are you still in Loughborough? Do you ever see Chad. We used to have so much fun in those days, the niters, scooter rallys and just hanging out at scooter clubs. Have you still got a scooter? I went to the IOW rally this year, it was the best I have ever been to, more people then ever used to go, from all ages newblood and old guys as well, lots of different music venues each day and night too. Do you remember Funky Martin, he was just bought a new Vespa and got in to scootering for the first time. Anyway, best go and get on with work, will catch up with you later. Andy Newman (still on the rock)

What Was The Other All Nighter In Hinckley Called
Andyontherock replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
I rember seeing Eddie Holman in Hinckley, and I have often tryed to work out what venue it was at. When I used to live near there a few years back, we used to go clubing with the guys I worked with and I can think of two places that it may be. One is now a kids play zone and club, and the other is up a side street of the main road through town, The Regent club also rings a bell. I do have some pics from back then that I am unsure if the venue, will post them up when I find them. -
Hi Mark Yes I was with Tracy, and yes I did throw it out the window...AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH Hows things with you? Andy

Remember the pier very well, used to take a mini bus of soulies up from Leicester on a regular basis, was hell of a drive there and back, but well worth it. I saw a couple of live acts there, and I think it was the three regrees (correct me if i'm wrong). I can remember that there used to be poole tables as you came in, and this one night there was a really fit bird playing poole that was wearing a black string vest top with no bra, and here nipples poking out through the holes,"what an audience she got" . I can remember the toilets well, seeing the sea through the bog. I can remember the night that Keb Darge did a fantastic set that didn't go down to well with all the holiday makers that used to go, and have fantastic memories of him telling eveyone to f*** off. My worst memorie was winning a T.V. in the raffle at one of the anniversaries and having to go on stage to accept it Ahhhhhhh. The other was on the way back to Leicester in my mini bus and getting to Woodville, changing gear and the gearstick desapeared from my hand. I phoned the rac and told them dont bother sending out your man in the van, just send the recovery vehicle " my engine and gearbox is in the road" I got home at about 6.00 the next day and when they pushed my minibus of the ramp one of the wheels ran right over my foot...... ...... Does any one remember Ray Evans from Wales. he was a good friend of mine and I can rember he used to do the odd spot at Morcambe every now and again. Happy times and great memories, have some pics somewhere will have to fish them out Andy Newman

How could I EVER forget that, voices in the head experience , totaly did my head in for ages. Nearly as bad as the time coming back from Warrington on a bank holiday, and as usual stopping of at Keele services. There was a massive que of holiday makers with trays waiting to be served, as I only wanted a cup of tea, I didn't take a tray and waited for my turn, trying not to look out of place , or catch anybody elses eye . When I finaly got served and I asked for "just a cup of tea", I was given a cup, saucer, jug of milk, tea pot and pot of hot water. My eyes nearly came out on stalks, I had to walk all the way back past everyone to get a tray, with everyone looking at me and tutting. I have never felt so paranoid in my life , I dont think that I spoke for the rest of the day.... Good job we can all look back and have a laugh about it now

Hi Mark, As promised a pic of the old A60 van we used to go up and down the country in, long before the seat belt law, and health and safety n all that. It might have been grey primer when you knew it, If you look on the Blackburn t.v. documentary you can see it at the end parked outside. Happy days

Hi Joan, Wasn't the same this year at Cleethorpes without you, was good to chat with you and your man at the bar last year. Hope you are both keeping well, can't believe how many old names are on this forum. Has everyone forgoten about baggy Dave and Alison? Not to mention Ian Stacy.

You nearly got it right, I ran a guest house at Mallory Park untill upping roots and moving to Alderney in the Channel Islands (no we dont speek French at we arn't near Jersey, but we the closest Island to France) Great fun living here, but a logistical nightmare to get to nighters, so only tend to do the weekenders nowerdays.

Yeah, I remember that scoot, and it did have a rat on it. Last time I saw Colin, he had just bought a new vespa, had it for about a week and thought what the f**k and choped it in for a big bike. He was living in Derby at the time, this must have been round about 1995. The Durkopp scoot that I had is now in Beaulie motor museum and I've still got my LI 2 that I use most days for getting around the Island.

O.M.G. That is Chad (not seen him for years), Dave Wheeler ( last time I saw him has Bretby in about 98 and at that time he was living in the very top part of Scotland in a croft), Sarah Ward, Sharron Harris aka "panda"( she ended up marrying Briam Mickelwright aka "pickle", "spin", they had a house together in Barwell, but it all ended with Pickle selling everything in the house to get his next fix. The last I saw of her she was very happily settled with her new Guy, Me, and Gaz Keen in front. Great pic, will have to have a rummage and see what I can find Andy Newman
