  1. Also came out in UK on MOVE records
  2. Didn't Dj over the weekend but went to Llandudno Rugby club Friday, didn't really enjoy it, too many oldies and hardly any real records played, but that's my personel view, the place was busy as usual and people seem to be enjoying themselves so I guess that's the important thing. Saturday night went to Broughton Wings, completely different night with a complete across the board music policy with something for everyone whether you like a few Motown Classics to northern classic with some modern soul and not forgetting the early spots full of great crossover and then Sams rare items thrown into the mix, danced myself silly and I was driving so couldn't blame the cheap booze, which normally fuels my wings at Broughton.
  3. Been around for a long time, when I got my copy it was still covered up as Ronnie McNeir.
  4. Played Evelyn Thomas "Doomsday" on the radio monday evening as a lost spin, sounded good after not hearing it for a very long time, instant memory of manic dancing in the Casino. As for the Four Pros it needs to be lost for about 10 years, massively over played in North Wales and a few other places and all way before Burnley.
  5. "Don't hold back" was an early northern spin pre Wigan if I remember rightly.
  6. Were these legal? I've heard different.
  7. It would have been interesting to hear what Jay & the Techniques would have done with it had they recorded it.
  8. That's quite true, but may have if different response if they were still around. That's the problem, and I have no axe to grind here, but if you went to the Casino in 1973-4 and through the following years there's bound to be a bit of well I was there and it didn't happen like that, but before we all get heated about it we should all read the book and then the fun can start.
  9. Love Love Love, Bobby thanks for the memories they will live on.

  11. Quite a few black stock copies in North Wales, brought over either by Bob Foster or John Evans in the 70's, Soul Chef told me last night he's had three copies back in the 80's, almost sure Mark Bicknells copy came from North Wales as well. One just been found by a friend in box of 60's pop, which had about 20 soul/northern records, cost him £20 for the box on the basis of the 60's pop records, which were in nice covers while all the others were sleeveless. The vinyl on all the soul 45's are in Ex condition though despite this fact. The friend has no interest in the soul 45's so trying to tie up a deal with him, but he does have the JM guide so he knows the value and I ain't gonna get it for £20.00.
  12. Pack lots of Lp's with sleeves from the like of Des O'connor etc, it's the only thing some LP sleeves are useful for.
  13. Get yourself down to Radcliffe not too far away.
  14. Flip side is an instrumental
  15. It was the late 70's I was talking about FW and yes I know the others were played before, I was Djing in the holiday camps/local disco's plus I had a mobile disco from 1972, lots of northern were played back then in the ordinary disco's didn't really matter what it was on back then either. Just trying to get the point over it was known to the general pubil long before KB owned his copy. I was even spinning the CC version in the local disco's in the 80's.
  16. Frank Wilson was mainstream pop disco even in the 70's whenever the DJ did a motown spot along with "Just a rumour" and "Baby hit and Run"
  17. Any idea what a Ex copy Diamond Jim Issue goes for these days. I've checked Popsike demo went for $789

  20. If I'm paying that sort of money I'd ask all the questions, if the seller then gives you false info then you have a case, if you don't ask you're stupid and deserve what you get.
  21. But the buyer should always be aware, for fuck's sake it not as if it's not been discussed here a million times, if you're not sure ask before you bid it's a simple task, if you bid and you're not sure then it's you're fault for being so stupid.
  22. Why do people buy without asking the questions they need to know if it ain't in the item description. I think if you require to know something about a item you're bidding on ask the question, otherwise accept that you've bought it. I don't think the seller has done anything wrong here myself, yes he could have maybe described the item better, perhaps he didn't know so just put what he knew. You wouldn't buy a car or a house without having the facts no different when buying a record in my opinion. BUYER BEWARE IS THE MOTTO.
  23. Big Demand for the flip side at moment
