  5. That's the reply I got from them as well, I was selling some patches and records from the 70's at the time.
  6. There's a lot of these imitation records around at the moment, Sharon Jones is having success in the states and elsewhere, we all know what that means loads more imitators, most will fail, next we think these failed records are the bees knees. Happended before that's why we have northern/rare soul, failed Motown/Philly imitators back in the 60's & 70's, look on it as a good thing.
  7. And just to complicate it more there's a recent pale green boot.
  8. I wasn't listing a bootleg at the time, it just seems that ebay pick up on certain items, list a Rolling Stones or Shaking Stevens it happens, list a Beatles it doesn't so what is the trigger. I've listed loads of 70's pressing where it's not happened but this was an original run of the mill soul record.
  9. There's a white label vinyl copy around, think they were done in the 90's, but the sound quality is a bit low.
  10. Yes I know Pete, but occassionally they then get pulled, Shakin' Steven's 45 are a prime example I don't know how many of his I've had pulled still can't get my head around that, he must be one of validators.
  11. Are you attempting to list a counterfeit or non-authentic item? Are you aware the listing of such items is not allowed on eBay?If you continue, your listing will be flagged and promptly reviewed. If your listing appears to offer a counterfeit or non-authentic item, it will be ended and your eBay account could be suspended. We may also refer your listing to the relevant company or law enforcement for review. If the item is authentic, we encourage you to provide more information in your listing. If it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity or has a serial number please state this in your listing. We appreciate your help making eBay an even safer place to trade. Click here for a window with eBay's policy on counterfeit items. Click here for a window with About Me pages created by trademark owners. Warning: Do not click the submit button, unless you know the item is authentic. I tend to get this when I'm listing a Rolling Stones 45, not an obscure soul record, makes you laugh when you see the 1000's of boots on there.

  14. Sorry to have to upset you, every track you've mentioned above were all played quite regular in the local pop discos in North Wales pre Wigan, along with the philly stuff, and I dare say in lots of pop disco's up and down the country. The local fairground pumped out these type of tunes along with Reggae all summer long here in Rhyl.
  15. Pete, I guess the rush release demo was due to demand from Uk, I bought this as a new release issue from Record Corner when copies came flooding into the Uk.
  16. Quite Right to, we're too hung on here with rarity, it soul source not rare source, rare is just a part of the soul scene.
  17. Why not they listen to contemporary soul music, did you leave your teenage musical interest behind, I didn't and guess most people on SS didn't so why would todays teenagers.
  18. May have reduced it after I sent a msg saying it was a boot
  19. Chargable site.
  20. Think Melba is the local Issue Keith, I have both labels.
  21. So kids today don't like soul music then, better have words with my 15 year old step daughter then somethings wrong with her and friends choice of music.
  22. Was a hugh record back in early 70's was played at all venues, but most probably played at the mecca first.
  23. Great new release be on the phone in the morning to stock up.
  24. I not saying 70's chart music, you missed the point, I'm talking about brand new soul releases that wouldn't be amiss on our scene, we actually discuss them on here to good reviews, we just don't play them out, the question is why, surely if we think they're good enough to discuss on here they are good enough to play out, by default if you are young and into them cause you've heard them on radio/youtube/disco then it's a way into the soul scene, if you knew that the soul scene actually played them.
