  1. Is that Banburistan, Helmand province?
  2. This could go on over a few pages and get lots of repeats I reckon. What about going around the globe alphabetically and exhausting each letter before going on. Make UK last and do it similarly by counties (Kent will be easy). So...AFGHANISTAN......any offers?
  3. I make that a 6 second intro. OOPS...don't know how a totally different clip played the first time! Now I see what you're getting at. Not exactly a "hairs on the back of the neck" intro, but bloody funny if you're dj'ing. Once set myself the challenge of both clearing and filling the floor with the same play. This worked a treat.
  4. It's got my vote Mike.
  5. "Northern" was national, but on a smaller scale, before it was given the name, and "Modern" usually isn't, so the titles may not be all that apt nowadays. However, they do give you some idea of what to expect (you've used a couple of examples yourself) if your planning on travelling some distance to a venue. I'll travel to listen to all sorts but it depends how I feel at the time, so keeping the labels is fine by me. -Kev.
  6. I'm so old, I get my own age wrong.
  7. Awww c'mon........I'm sure someone across the pond will have listed 'em as Northern Soul at some time on ebay. (Agree 100% with your post!) - Kev
  8. Don't need to, but I thought I'd finally reached an age where i can do what the fook I like without having someone on my case. .....WRONG - I now get it in the neck from my 24 yr old daughter!
  9. The Bobby Hebb dropped through my letterbox today. (£2 - wrongly listed and mis-spelt ) and...Presentations - Call On Me. Haven't heard either played out in my neck of the woods, but will be soon. -Kev.
  10. Duh!! Now I get it. I always was a bit slow!
  11. Been a couple on there recently.
  12. Nah. It'll go on forever and I'll only get bored Isn't this a thread about music rather than a platform for individuals .
  13. I totally agree with you Rick. I think the guy who posted is the same one who has expressed his intention of running just such a venue in London. Well it's deffo one for the tourists and I don't think I'll be going, other than for an office christmas party outing. What's the thing in the middle of the tattoo on your avatar? It looks a bit like a witchetty grub.
  14. Couldn't download it anyway 'cos "the link is now obsolete".
  15. Yep, nice collection of Stardust 45's.
  16. Same here Tony. And I still can't figure out why I hit it on an "ever again" search, but a "Bernie Williams" search didn't find it. I don't think the seller knew what he had. He put it up as Rare but doesn't seem to sell much vinyl. It started at $5 with no reserve. In answer to a question on postage/insurance his reply seemed to be based around wether it went for more or less than $65 .
  17. Oh yeah, for the curious - $910 / £494.91
  18. OK, own up. Who just won Bernie Williams - Ever Again - Bell, on Ebay?
  19. Nearly forgot the mother of all anthems TIMI YURO - "It'll Never Be Over For Me"
  20. 8th November is an anniversary nite for my own do. Haven't seen Mick Murphy for 20 years or so - last time was at Northampton RFC. For old times sake I'd be interested to hear of anywhere else he's on. Hope the nite goes well and I'll pass the info on to my brother and his mates who are still up that way.
  21. Here's the perfect solution, and you know you wouldn't look out of place with a shirt stretched over this. https://www.techdigest.tv/2006/04/the_beerbelly_1.html ....and I reckon it's the same company that do a similar false boob thing for the girls!
  22. Mick Murphy - another fine DJ from my youth! Would love to make this if it turns into a reunion but I'm doing a spot at the Swiss niter in Lucerne. Let us know how it goes and we'll try and make a future date. In a hotel too, so won't have to drive back to Kent.
  23. Nooooo!!! Don't worry Hank, the box is gonna be full of upbeat 60's for the Swiss niter.
  24. Hi Hank. I prefer the Miki Lynn version myself, on a Capitol 45 and I've seen a couple go for about £15. -Kevin
