  1. Sorry to mislead you Paul. Dave and Sebastian are quite correct - the original is VINYL (Had me worried for a minute!) - Kev
  2. Without digging mine out I'm pretty sure the original is styrene Paul. There is a boot with the small TUFF logo, but also a boot with the normal TUFF logo which I might even have seen in a sales box at the City Club. - Kev

    Wanted

I've got the instrumental on Itzy. You could always sing along to it for him.. - Kev.
  4. Keep a list of the big tunes you want and buy them as and when they come up at a price you're willing to pay. Trawl ebay for sellers that have sound clips with their listings and listen to all the ones you don't know. They might not be in great demand and you can pick up some blinding forgotten or underplayed tracks really cheap. This also saves hours/days/weeks/months of searching for that tune you've uncovered. I used to buy blind but after so many disappointments tend to use this method myself. - Kev. .
  5. There's still a couple of shops in Hanway St (runs between one end of Oxford St and Tottenham Court Rd). I was there last month when a guy from Washington walked in with a little stack of 45's that he was selling to fund his visit. While you're in that area it's worth checking out the multitude of shops in and around Berwick St - they're closing down at a rate of knots due to increased rents but worth a look anyway and I've found a couple of bits in Vinyl Junkies on more than one occassion. Spitalfields Market used to be alternate Wednesdays, but I'm sure someone told me recently that it had changed to a different day. Can anyone confirm?
  6. And a few more through the door: I Ain't Gonna Stop.....Masqueraders.....AGP Proud Guy.....Monroe Taylor.....Chesapeake I Got Money.....Junior Parker.....Blue Rock Are You Ever Coming Home.....Pageants.....RCA Victor demo My Tears.....Buddy Lamp.....Double-L demo
  7. Hmmm, I wonder if that's reflected in the value?
  8. Easy question then. Thanks Gareth, you've set my mind at rest.
  9. Can anyone advise me on this please. Patti Austin - Someone's Gonna Cry, on the multi-colour Coral label. Is it a boot, a later issue, different pressing plant, or what? I've only seen it on the yellow Coral before. Unfortunately the new server won't let me upload an image but hopefully you'll know what I'm on about. Thanks, - Kev
  10. Some of this weeks arrivals: Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.....Ray & Dave.....Mica Lonely World.....Sensations.....Way Out Love From The Far East.....Master Four.....Tayster demo I Wouldn't Come Back.....MaskMan & The Agents.....Loop Where Can She Run To.....Jammers.....Loma demo - Kev.
  11. Isn't the St Clair release a different take? Strange that though both versions of this are so similar I personally far prefer the HBR version. -Kev
  12. Playing the other side is the first thing I do. Not to say I haven't made the same mistake 'cos I'm just plain forgetful .
  13. Watson T. Browne I've had some of his stuff on Okeh and on Seven Suns, but don't recall which titles. I'll have a dig and see what I can find out. We had Watson perform for us at the Nostalgia Bar in Folkestone in 2005. He now resides in Folkestone, Kent, and still has a half decent voice but sadly for our booking he prefered to ramble off mid-song into reminiscing, and talking about his neighbour. I might even have donated my vinyl to him, but will check. -Kev
  14. Nice tune! Went for $31. I was going to use it as the backing for this - try it with the vid sound off, I still think it works as an alternative:
  15. I was waiting for someone to do a bit of diggin All above is quite correct. You just didn't unearth that Dana Valery also recorded, or at least perfomed, as "The Singing Nun" - just not the more superior one that recorded Dominique. Trouble is I can't find the relevant article now either.. I remember thinking at the time that it sort of fitted with the natural healing and spiritual lifestyle that she has adopted now. Maybe it was bollox - that'll teach me to try and be clever! -Kev.
  16. What is? Anyway, Simon & Garfunkel must have been first 'cos on the Dana Valery version the line "You don't begin to comprehend" is spoken by Simon or Garfunkel, so presumably is taken from their earlier recording (which I haven't heard). Dana Valery also recorded as The Singing Nun
  17. But yes, the DJ or promoter should have a friendly word straight off before things can get silly.Yet to see a promoter stepping in though. Maybe we're all just customers - arsehole or not I've got down of the decks myself to shift the drinkers before now when a shout over the mike had no effect. It really pisses me off if I'm dancing so why should I expect anyone else to put up with it? -Kev
  18. It's not all bad though.... I had someone come up to the decks recently and ask "You got any Donna Summers?" I dunno what my face must have looked like, 'cos he followed with "Oh....I've asked the wrong question haven't I!" End result was we both fell about pissing ourselves laughing and I'm so glad I was too stunned to just tell him to fook off. -Kev
  19. Got any photo's to go with these? How much is mailing to the UK for individual items?
  20. How long you been into gardening then? Go to any good garden centres? B&Q is local but I find they always have the same old plants and the staff are just in it for the money and don't know their stuff. Gnome? Is it plastic or original concrete? Hope it's not one of those modern gnomes with a cartoon face. If you could approach a green-fingered neighbour to tend your garden, would you pay them? Even if they loved gardening? Enjoy the barbie Mark. (original or gas? Surf or turf? Bottles or cans?)
  21. Me too a year or so ago. It seems the problem is that he doesn't get to his PC very often. End result was that after No Reply to my various messages over a period of 3 weeks or so, I posted my first ever Neg feedback. Promptly rec'd the same back - but it's since been wiped and Ebay don't allow purely retaliatory feedback anymore.
