  1. All I'l say is that it's noticeable that nobody from Kent has posted on this thread! Me?...........I'm just a long term visitor who does high mileage. - Kev.
  2. It's when they tape her legs together to stop her whistling that you want to worry mate!
  3. It's a bonding thing. You've never truly bonded if you don't have the clap. It's the dancehall equivalent of a chant from the football terrace. Chinstroking in the dug-out, or at one with the crowd and the play? I know where I'd rather be.
  4. I haven't played this for ages!.............and it's still the first one that came to mind. - Kev.
  5. Stuck in a room with a woman in labour....for seven hours!!! I wouldn't have enjoyed it either.
  6. She was supposed to be Anyone know how it went?
  7. R.I.P. Hermon. Condolences to family, friends, and his buddy's at People's Records, Detroit. - Kev.
  8. Turned it off after Jamming. Only really like the early Stevie Wonder stuff and as much as I saw just didn't do it for me. Wish he hadn't kept calling it GlastonBERRY. FAITHLESS were good though. - Kev.
  9. Sam Hawkins - Hold On Baby "........knocked 3 times on the door,.......said Sam Hawkins out here Baby....." - Kev
  10. I totally agree with that. In fact Dave, I would and have outright refused to give any details to someone on the end of a phone. As Paypal already have details of your account and details of any transactions you have made what more could be gained from a phone call? Treat it with suspicion mate and forward it to spoof@paypal.com . They should eventually reply informing you if it was a bogus phishing attempt to obtain your details. Even if it wasn't, I still wouldn't provide details over the phone. P.S. I have your phone number. A mate will call soon pretending to be from Paypal in order to obtain your bank & credit card details - 'cos I'm skint and I know you're loaded. Now you have good reason not to respond! - Kev.
  11. Maybe I'm wrong as I have no idea who Huey Morgan is. Certainly the film that has been mentioned before on here is called Soulboy - after going through a couple of title changes. Now that I've re-read your post it could be a different film. If it's another film with the same title (nothing would surprise me), hopefully someone will come up with some details Maybe changing your thread title to "Another Soulboy Film?" or similar would be helpful. The "Wigan" Soulboy film has been done to death and people might tend to ignore the thread as it stands . -Kev.
  12. There's already been numerous threads re this film - a quick search on "Soulboy" should get you to them. There's also been lots of opinions as to wether it'll be any good or not. Try searching Youtube for the trailer if you can't find it on one of the threads. -Kev
  13. Depends how much money your talkin'. I got my ION/Numark iPT-01 brand new from Maplins for £43 during their sale. Had it 5 or 6 years without any problems. Use decent headphones for sales and trawling bootfairs etc. For occasional home use and checking postie's new deliveries without setting the decks up I have it linked up to the auxiliary socket on my stereo system. Whatever the make, it would be nice to see at least one portable set up at every venue that encourages sales.
  14. Is it about a young African forced to support his family by working for a pittance on a Cocoa plantation? They should have called it SOLD OUT to avoid any confusion!
  15. Usually stay at the Express by Holiday Inn, as stated next to the Brittania Stadium (and only £5 in a taxi - on New Years Eve !). Have also stayed at the Plough and had no complaints - basic, but fine for getting your head down for a few hours. I long ago decided that most people don't write hotel reviews and decided to ignore the disgruntled few. About £3 taxi but I wouldn't walk it as suggested by some. - Kev
  16. He has Joan. He was lurking briefly an hour or two after he first posted. Apparently his grandaughter stood him up, he's got no mates, and he doesn't like niters, ..........so he had nothing better to do.
  17. If you're not going to support an event why should you expect to put your flyers out there? I'm another prck that would have told you to fcuk off. IMO the chance to put them on the flyer table was a generous concession and you should have taken it. You remind me of two guys I saw doing flyers outside the 100 Club last year - no intention of going in and being part of it, just opportunists that soon went away when they realised they were being ignored.
  18. You're absolutely right - all this already exists. I didn't want to piss on anyone's chips while you were all getting excited though. I've seen quite a few in the sales section that when I've gone to refosoul for a listen are shown as "wanted", and I've only ever had one PM follow up to a posted want of my own - so yes, it's obvious that not everyone is aware of the feature. I guess I'm gonna have to check and remove any old wants now before I get loads of PM's - Kev
  19. Yep, I think we're getting a bit off topic so i'll leave it at this - if the music in the main room wasn't very good I probably wouldn't be there unless it was a (very) local event. If the main room throws in stuff like Parisiennes/Little Tommy/William Powell, like Kings Hall, that's fine by me.
  20. Yes mate, tongue in cheek hence the emoticon, and sorry if you saw it otherwise - apart from the atmosphere/dance orientated bit of course. And I'll dance to stuff I haven't heard before - don't see why everyone doesn't.
  21. Where's your vote then? I'm the only vote for rare so far. In that case I'd like tried and tested in the second room. (I think).
  22. Rare, but by that I don't mean rarely available. I mean rarely played.
  23. Now stop picking on my post in an effort to make yourself sound superior, and start saving for all those birthday rounds you're gonna be buying in the Blue Posts!
  24. Paul, that doesn't make sense to me. You can't understand why a busy room, full of dancers, can have a better atmosphere than an emptyish one? Well if you're out for a sociable night out it does matter, otherwise you might as well stay at home and just have a couple of mates round. Me.....I'll wander from one to the other, unaffected by the bias of others as I like it all. I do pick my venues according to what I'm after though. Unfortunately some aren't prepared to leave their comfort zone and hear what else is on offer. I've noticed this particularly when there isn't immediate access between rooms and this does sound like Gloucester if the rooms were on different floors. Swap the rooms around for an hour or so - and see if everyone gets up and moves Other than that - I'll go with Dave Abbots Factor number 3
  25. Had me worried there and I was gonna stop replying to PM's I can see where Dave's coming from and it must be frustrating to not see a few expected faces that you know are just a few steps away. Like yourself I reckon it's probably down to atmosphere - I like the new rare or underplayed room at Kings Hall, Stoke, but it certainly doesn't have the atmosphere of the main room so inevitably that's where I'll spend most of the night with mates who probably aren't as appreciative of the other room. - Kev
