  1. Thanks! Didn't realise it was a revival / nostalgia thing. - Kev
  2. Feck me...you even get some blokes turning up in beachwear - 3/4 length trews and sandals! Wouldn't let 'em in myself. Whatever happened to standards eh? - Kev

  4. Gopher doll? Caddyshack? Ady dancing? Sorry but you've lost me there on all 3 counts! I've seen the pic and reckon it was Horace, not Ady lol. - Kev
  5. The occasional (was gonna say 'odd') one or two - it hasn't changed. And if it does, I ain't going if that Croasdel chappie is gonna wear a vest! - Kev
  6. Spot on Mark IMO. I've worn baggies because they're not restrictive. Then I wore them because they shrouded my inadequate footwork. Now I don't wear them, but only 'cos I've aged into a right sh!t dancer. And re the "Bruce Lee" comment made on the programme - I don't think Fran paid full attention to the question before replying as the dancing of course didn't come from Martial Arts. However, with Kung Fu and Karate being so popular at the time it possibly had influence on the ability of quite a few dancers, so I think I know where she's coming from. Whenever I tried on a new pair of parallels or baggies - if I couldn't do a good jodan-mae-geri in a cramped changing cubicle then they were to tight and i wouldn't buy 'em. Enjoyed the programme more than I thought I would and looking forward to Elaine's film a whole lot more than previously. I'd only seen a brief taster before and thought it was a bit corny. My faith has been renewed. - Kev
  7. Well I hope that you find one eventually, and it's pretty near the top of my wants list too. Pity they become available just as my finances hit rock bottom - Kev.
  8. That's the 3rd one in recent months. The other 2 were in better condition and went for more like 1/2 that price. I guess that those that were beaten to it previously decided to have a bidding war on this one. - Kev
  9. Rumour has it that due to the label mis-print Ady is destroying all spare copies of this 45 and handing out a different new release as the 'official 34th Anniversary' single in the very near future. Voodoo Madamoiselle anybody? - Kev
  10. Times are hard. At the moment the 100 Club is the only event I regularly support, but I couldn't afford £50 to get in - free single or no free single. The girl who was stopped from binning her 45 and gave it to someone then returned to give him her friends copy too - I wonder if she's reading this thread? - Kev
  11. Nah, this was the 34th Anniversary wasn't it? - Kev
  12. That was a silly post. Anyway, only caught the first half and, having viewed their energy and enthusiasm via youtube, thought the Japanese guys would have been worthy of being filmed rather than radio interviewed. Nice to see the Nude Restaurant getting a mention, and also acknowledgement that there were venues that preceded Wigan (that makes a change). Ady came across ok, as expected, and Russ was, well, as expected Just wondered, with the Japanese guys not understanding the song lyrics, if instrumentals were still a big part of the scene over there? - Kev
  13. If you go to Wigan shopping precinct you may hear a faint echo. - Kev
  14. Just watched it all again. Here's a complete tracklist (in order), apart from number 5 which I didn't write down and can't remember what it was. Tracks you're asking about are highlighted. 1) WHAT - Judy Street 2) ON A MAGIC CARPET RIDE - Kiki Dee 3) AIN'T GONNA RUN - Royal Esquires 4) THERE'S A LOOK ABOUT YOU - Enchanters 5) ? 6) I STILL LOVE YOU - Harry Deal & The Galaxies 7) YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR CAKE - Lela Martin 8) CALL ME - Emmit long 9) YOUR LOVES GONE BAD - Clay Hunt 10) AIN'T GONNA CRY NO MORE - Dave Charles 11) FACE UP TO THE TRUTH - Doris Troy 12) YOU'VE GOT TO BE WILLING - Calvin Grayson This is my copy: https://youtu.be/tQn28dSvPgo Image shows the flip of what is playing: https://youtu.be/lSUO9MXrU58 - Kev
  15. I've got this. It's part of the "Soul Function" dvd/cd package. Just about to eat, but will check it out later if you don't have the answer by then. - Kev
  16. I've said it before - Requesting or making a GIFT payment when it's not for a gift but is for goods and/or services is against Paypal/Ebay rules and this misuse can cause you to have the whole paypal facility made unavailable to you. It's buried somewhere in their Terms & Conditions, and apparently they actively seek out those abusing the process. That said, I know many people use/expect to be gifted al the time and have flown under the radar for years and never had a problem. The choice is yours, but it galls me when sellers demand a gift payment. - Kev
  17. Levi Stubbs Walter Jackson Hazel Martin and the ladies... Etta James Sade Adu - Kev
  18. Hi Bob.Yes there are both machines and hand held contraptions for cutting out solid centres. I think your example has been removed with a hand held cutter. If you zoom in and look at the 'Nighttime Boogie' side, you can see at about 7 o'clock on the centre where the cut was started/finished and left the vinyl a bit rough and jagged around the hole. - Kev.
  19. .. And walking distance from the venue of my favourite weekender ! Someone is gonna grab a quality bargain. Only wish it was me. - Kev
  20. Totally agree. This just shouldn't happen and repeat occurences could well see support dwindling - as happened at another venue recently. Down to the promoter to call a halt to it. That said, when I dj'd I would sometimes clear drinking dancers off the floor using the mike - once had to get off the decks and do it face to face which was a pity but hey-ho. - Kev
  21. Dan, you want to post this in the 'ebay and websites sales links' section rather than here. This is where people sell bicycles and dogs. - Kev
  22. Good job it wasn't for your Julies birthday then Dave. - Kev
  23. He must be a relative of Paddy Grady, who always used to announce the Super Latives. - Kev
  24. Well done Brad. I hope you get the desired result. Regards, Kev.
