  1. If I'd posted a sale or want, I'd be well pee'd off with all this chat knocking my topic down the list. - Kev
  2. By the time he'd replied to you I'd already told him it was a boot, so no excuse for pleading ignorance. What a tosser! - Kev
  3. Reported a few on ebay - mostly those that seem to set up a label and have a cottage industry going. Nothing happened as far as I know. Even seen one openly listed as a boot and it wasn't cancelled. Ebay might have rules but they seldom enforce them, particularly when it's not to their advantage. - Kev
  4. Just noticed that this is on tonight, BBC4 23.55 - 00.55 Otis Redding; Soul Ambassador Documentary featuring 1967 British Tour, U.S. Monterey Festival, etc - Kev
  5. Now at £62 Well here's my 'acting the innocent' question, the reply and a response: Great tune - thanks for the soundclip. How would you describe this - original? 2nd issue? bootleg? As it had a decent start price I was hoping it might be an original. - Kev I am not an authority on this particular 45 I am afraid. I can say it came out of a collection not seen the light of day in over 35 years and one identical sold for $108.60 on Feb 15th according to an old listing. Hmmm, but you know it's a 'huge oldie' and you've been selling soul vinyl for 40yrs? It's a bootleg so you must be hoping to have someone over by not alluding to that and by refusing to acknowledge it when questioned. - Kev I don't expect to see the question retained on his listing though. Then again, it's not a huge price so maybe the bidders know what it is and have more money than sense. Stranger things have happened. For £60 profit I might try and locate my boot copy. - Kev
  6. Coast to Coast sounds familiar. Got a copy run off on cd/dvd somewhere. - Kev
  7. Same as mine. Think it's from Belgium and the Omega copy is the first release. - Kev
  8. It was for the deaf. They didn't hear them the first time around. - Kev
  9. Nice, but I've heard instrumentals which I prefer - or which are more dance orientated. Used to sometimes play this early doors, before the official start time and while finalising the room set up and greeting early-birds. - Kev https://youtu.be/oggUQAWjdyE
  10. I was channel hopping and caught the last 15 minutes.Didn't realise it was SignZone - I thought some enterprising person had put together a hand-jive dance tutorial for the new wave of soulies. - Kev
  11. And that's the way I do it as a buyer Pete. If someone is a mate or a seller that I use regularly, then I may well choose to make a gift payment as a 'thankyou'. Thing is now, I wouldn't know if they're being scrutinised by paypal and I might be giving them grief (probably not - but it could happen). - Kev.
  12. If you ask the buyer to include the paypal % then some bright spark is gonna think to make a gift payment to avoid the extra. Just include all your costs in the price. - Kev
  13. I've mentioned it a couple of times over the years and it's one of those posts that tends to get ignored usually. Think my last and recent post was something like: Requesting or making a GIFT payment when it's not for a gift but is for goods and/or services is against Paypal/Ebay rules and this misuse can cause you to have the whole paypal facility made unavailable to you. It's buried somewhere in their Terms & Conditions, and apparently they actively seek out those abusing the process. I know many people use/expect to be gifted all the time and have flown under the radar for years and never had a problem. This instance is the first I've heard of someone on here getting caught out. The choice is yours, but it galls me when sellers practically demand a gift payment. - Kev
  14. Many, many favourites featuring the great voice of Levi Stubbs, including this accapella version which really showcases his perfection: https://youtu.be/mGqBWjMmVps - Kev
  15. Nice set Russ. I hope the Spaniards didn't confiscate all that vinyl at the border with Gib. See you next year matey. - Kev
  16. OK, just a thought - what about some upbeat early Motown. Plenty of music books and downloads (some FREE - www.sheetmusic.cc ) I think you may struggle with sheet music for lesser known stuff. - Kev
  17. Would you like us to come and sing it for you too? Maybe your friend should go for a different genre of music. - Kev
  18. What do you mean? - Where there is a soundclip i.e. Youtube? Or where there is sheet music available? - in which case you should be able to check yourself following song suggestions on here. - Kev
  19. Thanks! Didn't realise it was a revival / nostalgia thing. - Kev
  20. Feck me...you even get some blokes turning up in beachwear - 3/4 length trews and sandals! Wouldn't let 'em in myself. Whatever happened to standards eh? - Kev

  22. Gopher doll? Caddyshack? Ady dancing? Sorry but you've lost me there on all 3 counts! I've seen the pic and reckon it was Horace, not Ady lol. - Kev
  23. The occasional (was gonna say 'odd') one or two - it hasn't changed. And if it does, I ain't going if that Croasdel chappie is gonna wear a vest! - Kev
  24. Spot on Mark IMO. I've worn baggies because they're not restrictive. Then I wore them because they shrouded my inadequate footwork. Now I don't wear them, but only 'cos I've aged into a right sh!t dancer. And re the "Bruce Lee" comment made on the programme - I don't think Fran paid full attention to the question before replying as the dancing of course didn't come from Martial Arts. However, with Kung Fu and Karate being so popular at the time it possibly had influence on the ability of quite a few dancers, so I think I know where she's coming from. Whenever I tried on a new pair of parallels or baggies - if I couldn't do a good jodan-mae-geri in a cramped changing cubicle then they were to tight and i wouldn't buy 'em. Enjoyed the programme more than I thought I would and looking forward to Elaine's film a whole lot more than previously. I'd only seen a brief taster before and thought it was a bit corny. My faith has been renewed. - Kev
  25. Well I hope that you find one eventually, and it's pretty near the top of my wants list too. Pity they become available just as my finances hit rock bottom - Kev.
