  1. Yes Nick they are different - enough for me to love one version and the memories of my youth that it evokes, whereas I wouldn't entertain the other version. It has to be HBR for me. I'm sure others feel that the St Clair version is the one, and for exactly the same reasons. I guess it's down to where you were geographically and the venues you attended. - Kev
  2. Ha...April May & June. A demo of this was a non-delivered purchase on ebay very recently. There is a VG- stock copy up as a 'Buy it now' for $9.99 at the moment. The seller will also ship USPS rather than the Global thing if you ask nicely. - Kev
  3. Err...don't think so Mick. Your link takes me to MY ebay, not yours. - Kev
  4. Yeah, wondering if that's gonna happen with mine - and looking out for it. Especially as I got it for a tenner and two others were on for £80+ - Kev
  5. I would totally ignore the tracking information as it was obviously wrong for myself and for others that had left the same guy negative feedback. Good luck with it though - here's hoping. - Kev
  6. Did everyone get their vinyl ? I didn't. After waiting a month I had to go through ebay to get a full refund. Would sooner have had the vinyl though. Just for once, as I thought I had a bargain, I didn't check the sellers feedback. If I had I would have noticed that mr-magazine had a fair few negatives against him. He now has one more. - Kev
  7. All very strange. Had another mailed through USPS within a day or two of the missing item and it was through my letter box in 5 days - usually takes 6 days from this different seller. Anyone know where this tracking info comes from? as it's obviously false/misleading and my seller was unaware of it. - Kev
  8. I'm having the same problem. Record purchased on 17th Nov (USPS mailing) and tracking shows as delivered on 20th Nov - which from the USA is an unheard of as far as I know. Contacted the seller to query this - not to complain as I wasn't expecting it that quick. He stated that the tracking status came from ebay, not him. Its an £80 record which I won for a tenner, so not too bothered initially. Still haven't received it though and I normally expect up to 3 weeks from the States. Hoping its down to the Thanksgiving holiday and pre Christmas post. - Kev
  9. Pascal, do you mean friday december 11 or saturday december 12 ? - Kev
  10. Do you mean Jimmy Moore - Church Street Sally , by any chance? - Kev
  11. I was wondering if you would step in and give us the details. Well done Robb! - Kev
  12. Definately the same person. I remember reading the details surrounding this before. Check out "The Fred Bridges Story" courtesy of the Soulful Detroit website as the details should be there somewhere - certainly scans of both 45's are. Would dig deeper for you but I'm in a bit of a rush at the 'mo. - Kev
  13. You're right. Point taken. - Kev
  14. I don't think that has anything to do with the GSP system though. I am forced into doing that with any (non GSP) multiple purchases, and then have to rely on the goodwill of the seller to provide multiple refunds for part of the shipping costs. I'm presuming that the same can be done under the GSP system - with a final combined postage price arrived at. Nothing would surprise me though. - Kev
  15. Thanks for responding. - Kev
  16. What and who is it Steve? - Kev
  17. And how much for?
  18. Pleasant enough. She's obviously had the same early influences as her brother (?) ......Fatboy. - Kev
  19. Pile of sh!te ! - Kev
  20. Hi Dan, I'm not familiar with the fade-in version so presume it's just done to enable a bit more space on a crammed compilation CD. The original vinyl has the piano intro and I doubt any serious DJ would have played any other version. - Kev
  21. Just wear a skirt on each leg like some of the blokes I've seen. - Kev
  22. I take the tunes played and made popular before the mid 70's as the oldies, rather than the recording or release date. Like you say, it's all subjective. - Kev
  23. I wouldn't bother guys. David Smothers obviously can't be arsed to yay or nay any of the suggestions to date, and hasn't been on here since the 7th Sept - the day after he joined. - Kev
  24. A pity that this fine example of messing about with an original work relates to 'The Snake' - a tune which, in it's original state, seems to arouse such venom (no pun intended). That aside, as a dancer, what would I think if I heard it played in the main room of a venue? 1 Why is The Snake being played. 2 Why has it been messed about with. 3. Why is it so long (over 5 min) 4. Why is it called the 'Senior Citizens Mix'........six of them have just had heart attacks trying to dance til the end of what they thought was a 2 and 1/2 minute tune. 5. Why did I come here 6 Why am I still here You can abbreviate all of the above to the one word...WHY. As a collector, what would I think if I heard it played in the main room of a venue? You nearly got me there....I almost thought it was a serious question! - Kev
  25. Really hope you get your vinyl back. Not being funny, but as these were 'robbed' ...'possibly from Stretford or Chorlton'...is there a possibility that they have just been misplaced and lost? If my playbox was missing I would definately know where I last had it. I take it any possible venues or trains/buses/cabs have been checked out? Good Luck - Kev
