  1. I know you know. We all know. We've all either said it or thought it. I'm merely re-wording the explanation for the benefit of the one person who doesn't seem to get it.. - Kev
  2. I actually think the guy has a point, he's just isn't making it very well. It's perfectly reasonable to assume that artists from the U.S. north would be called our "northern soul brothers", soul brother being a ubiquitous term amongs't black Americans. What is causing the problem, is that the use and origins of the term is totally different on either side of the pond, something I don't think he understands. I don't actually think he should be talking about "northern soul brothers". I think what he really means is northern "Soul Brothers" What we would be talking about re the UK originated scene is "Northern Soul" brothers. There's a difference - Kev
  3. An interesting perspective and a good post I think from a new member, so don't be put off by adverse responses. Unfortunately you do show a lack of appreciation regarding the Northern Soul scene that began in the UK and is now acknowledged world-wide as a genre of music. I can almost understand from your post the reasoning behind so many U.S. ebay sellers describing some of their vinyl as "Northern Soul" - when to the rest of the world it clearly isn't. Think of it as Football. We could both discuss that game with a ball, played between 2 teams - yet we would each be talking about a completely different thing. - Kev
  4. You probably need to read the forum guidelines too, and not repeat your post every hour or so. - Kev edit.....Wow, that was quick . Well sorted !
  5. It would be an idea to stick your list on here mate, otherwise it's not really worth posting. If you've got about 100 just leave out the boots and stick the originals up and it shouldn't take too long. - Kev
  6. R.I.P. Toby. You were one of the genuine nice guys. - Kev & Pam
  7. Jeez it looks bad - you wouldn't even make a wall clock out of that ! Forget those chances of a foolish ebay buyer I reckon and sneak it into someone else's dustbin. - Kev
  8. Yes Nick they are different - enough for me to love one version and the memories of my youth that it evokes, whereas I wouldn't entertain the other version. It has to be HBR for me. I'm sure others feel that the St Clair version is the one, and for exactly the same reasons. I guess it's down to where you were geographically and the venues you attended. - Kev
  9. Ha...April May & June. A demo of this was a non-delivered purchase on ebay very recently. There is a VG- stock copy up as a 'Buy it now' for $9.99 at the moment. The seller will also ship USPS rather than the Global thing if you ask nicely. - Kev
  10. Err...don't think so Mick. Your link takes me to MY ebay, not yours. - Kev
  11. Yeah, wondering if that's gonna happen with mine - and looking out for it. Especially as I got it for a tenner and two others were on for £80+ - Kev
  12. I would totally ignore the tracking information as it was obviously wrong for myself and for others that had left the same guy negative feedback. Good luck with it though - here's hoping. - Kev
  13. Did everyone get their vinyl ? I didn't. After waiting a month I had to go through ebay to get a full refund. Would sooner have had the vinyl though. Just for once, as I thought I had a bargain, I didn't check the sellers feedback. If I had I would have noticed that mr-magazine had a fair few negatives against him. He now has one more. - Kev
  14. All very strange. Had another mailed through USPS within a day or two of the missing item and it was through my letter box in 5 days - usually takes 6 days from this different seller. Anyone know where this tracking info comes from? as it's obviously false/misleading and my seller was unaware of it. - Kev
  15. I'm having the same problem. Record purchased on 17th Nov (USPS mailing) and tracking shows as delivered on 20th Nov - which from the USA is an unheard of as far as I know. Contacted the seller to query this - not to complain as I wasn't expecting it that quick. He stated that the tracking status came from ebay, not him. Its an £80 record which I won for a tenner, so not too bothered initially. Still haven't received it though and I normally expect up to 3 weeks from the States. Hoping its down to the Thanksgiving holiday and pre Christmas post. - Kev
  16. Pascal, do you mean friday december 11 or saturday december 12 ? - Kev
  17. Do you mean Jimmy Moore - Church Street Sally , by any chance? - Kev
  18. I was wondering if you would step in and give us the details. Well done Robb! - Kev
  19. Definately the same person. I remember reading the details surrounding this before. Check out "The Fred Bridges Story" courtesy of the Soulful Detroit website as the details should be there somewhere - certainly scans of both 45's are. Would dig deeper for you but I'm in a bit of a rush at the 'mo. - Kev
  20. You're right. Point taken. - Kev
  21. I don't think that has anything to do with the GSP system though. I am forced into doing that with any (non GSP) multiple purchases, and then have to rely on the goodwill of the seller to provide multiple refunds for part of the shipping costs. I'm presuming that the same can be done under the GSP system - with a final combined postage price arrived at. Nothing would surprise me though. - Kev
  22. Thanks for responding. - Kev
  23. What and who is it Steve? - Kev
  24. And how much for?
  25. Pleasant enough. She's obviously had the same early influences as her brother (?) ......Fatboy. - Kev
