  1. Thank you everyone for your replies. Ady thanks for the offer but still a bit beyond my finances, the wife would be far from pleased, to put it mildly, if she thought I had paid that much for a record. I wanted to buy it for her as a surprise and I know she particularly likes the two slower breaks in the song so that is why I was asking if the represses are the same song. I can't seem to get to hear a sound bite of the pastel green copy, always comes up with the yellow original. Can anyone put one on here for me please.
  2. I am wanting to buy a copy of Salvation but finances do not allow me to pay nearly £200 for any of the ones currently for sale on various sites. However I have been doing research on the internet and have found copies of the 70's re-press. What I need to know is if the Robert Thomas and Six Feet Under is exactly the same song as the original or a remix as Six Feet Under are not mentioned on the original. Also what would be a reasonable price to pay for a re-press? Any information welcome

Thank you very much to every one who has replied, not being able to name it was really bugging me.

Please can anyone help me identify a song heard last night at Mexborough Athletic soul night. The lyrics sound like ' some people say it's tragic, I think it's magic'. It has a slow beginning then picks up. I know I have heard it played out before but not very often. it is probably well known to everyone on Soul Source but eluding me at the moment. Thanks John

  7. Got to agree with you, I love to dance too, isn't that what Northern Soul is mainly about, that irresistable urge to dance. I have been known to walk into a venue, fling my coat etc onto nearest table and hit the floor dancing. Fortunately I like all the different genres of soul and can adjust my style of dancing to go with the music. I don't need alcohol to be able to dance, would probably fall over and dare not risk broken bones at my age!!!! My favourite floor has to be the Ritz Ballroom at Brighouse, it has just the right amount of spring, followed by Drax. East Kirkby has improved but I always bring the varnish back on my shoes! I am possibly one of the older dancers on the scene but as some-one said earlier, 'I will keep dancing until my knees give up', not happening just yet as I have the Metrodome to tackle tomorrow. See you there. Joyce
  8. I have had a copy in my record box from when it was originally released in 1971/2. Can anyone tell me how much it maybe worth ?
