    I sold mine for more 10 or 15 years ago. It’s a great price. Darrow fletcher is also fantastic but that price crikey !!

    Caught up with this show now and well that was interesting. He has really captured the 60s soul sound very well. And the lyrics are strong.

    this seems more like a boot than a licenced reissue then ? It is good this music has come to a new audience but only by official products IMO no place for these dodgy boots. much prefer the Willie mason myself more northern if that makes sense.

    There is a lot of fantastic unissued stuff being put out by some very knowledgable people. the record discussed here is a weak pop song that shouldn’t get anywhere near a soul set

    This is what I was thinking. They still have stampers and these have been pressed recently. It’s only guess work on my part.

    So the over press scam could have been going on longer than previously known about ? Or they have been pressed more recently ?

    I just used those numbers as an example I agree it’s probably a lot more. With record prices the way they are lots of money to be made

    Maybe but the fact they were being sold on open market suggests strongly / proves that wasn’t why extra copies were pressed. 10 extra copies at 100 quid each is easy money. Multiply that up and the incentive is there

    Yes that’s what I meant he stamped those he gave out so unstamped were known to be dodgy.

    So one of the over pressed 45s was marked up by Ady, sorry I didn’t read that detail before posting.

    Got to agree. always hearing great new stuff. the new releases recently have been very strong particularly the Larry and the illustrators. The ballad side is immense.

    Impossible to know if it’s from the official or unofficial batch then. That makes it very awkward

    Yes this really defines northern to me along with tomangoes and Salvadors.

    Flowers for real is about the perfect record for me. there are so many I just love hearing but this might be the best

    After the support act played at libertines gig in Birmingham last night Bobby Kline “say something nice to me” played…. and a few other more well known soul tunes. the libertines were also fantastic great gig all round.

    That’s a really nice record jump in price does seem very excessive though.

    EBay fees will take a good chunk of that. either way as good as the record is it’s just to well known off the scene now so pretty much dead.
