I've always liked i shed a tear a lot and that was the side i bought the record for. i've been giving the flip a few spins recently and it does have something. For years i never listened to it.

I've seen a few for sale recently some as high as 150gbp ? is this in demand ? What general view on value on here ? cheers

Even as recently as the late 90s records that were easy to find $10 records are now fairly expensive amd some now regulary sell for over 100gbp. plenty still at $10 though....

I agree no record has a definitive value. but knowledge and experience will help a lot. Its invaluble.

How many records that would sell for a lot on the soul scene or to collectors are in the hands of people who dont know how much they are worth ? Either people who left the scene years ago and dont know current values or collections that have ended up with other family members.

The doris duke album is a fantastic record. i didnt dig any deeper into her recordings under other surnames so all this other information here is new to me.

"Cant forget the one i love" is a relly nice cheap 70s by her i've always liked. It doesnt look like its on that CD.

When reality kicks in with young folk then i think this generation have got it quite tough compared to previous. There will be a short window when they ignore all this and spend as they please but it wont last long. house prices are crazy, final salary pensions are gone, state pensions may be going or they wont get it until 70 ? 9k a year for a degree if you choose to do one. some pensioners (not all) will have considerably more disposable income.

A rare unknown in 2017 assuming its good would be serious money. most things listed as semi or unknown are quite well known

That ken williams is one to watch. with the way oldies are selling now a record of that quality could shoot up to 500 in ten years time....

Getting a list up would be a good start. maybe in batches and not all at once ? but i appreciate you just want to sell the job lot. But chances are 80% of the value will be in 20% of the records and the rest will gain little interest.

I’ve got a patchy history of the records I have had. I think what you have done is a good idea. when I was a lot more active I had all sorts of lists for buying and selling prices like you but I don’t keep any records now.

Getting all your records typed up omto a word doc so you can copy and paste that info onto forums etc is a good use of time. Graded and with brief descriptions if necessary. Once its done once you have it forever so its not wasted time. what are a couple of your more desireable easy to sell records just to get the ball rolling ?
