  1. I didn't go I wonder on how these 45s gain popularity and think mine may have played a small part... it went to ben summers at rugby one night. It was after this I noticed it start to gain a lot of attention.
  2. I was wasting time on google last night and one search took me to a film featuring bruce willis from 2012 that featured a brilliant deep soul track "pwwerful love" by chuck and mac. for a bruce willis big film to feature such an obscure classic is quite impressive. No link to any particular individual but just an example of when a true underground classic breaks into mainstream media.
  3. mid to late 90s I had a tape with both sides of that 45 and it took me a while to find a copy then quite quickly a found a 2nd. its a great 45. Both long gone now. It shot up in price a few years after my copies had both gone, typical.
  4. I hope i’m Not stating the obvious but you know they are different recordings and share the words but different backing. caramel is 60s romark 70s
  5. A slip of the hand and he could have done some serious damage. the sharp edge of the metal may have left a serious mark in the grooves. i dont think those checks would be enough froma scientific perspective. I know it's completely different but when they look at old paintings on fake or fortune the depths the testing goes to is incredible and takes away all doubt.
  6. I could understand somebody leaving a scene or not wanting to be involved but to srop liatening to a type of music because you dont like a scene seems strange. i may be off the mark but i thought his preference was for deep soul which doesnt really have a scene as such.
  7. Having the record in the title would help. great track.
  8. maybe for a small edit....

  10. Does he mention the name of the owner towards the end of the video ?
  11. I was offered two of a kind and advised this is the one you should get by him. i left it in the box but maybe should have gone for it.....
  12. There was certainly a good healthy number of younger european collectors late 90s early 2000s but they are all 20 years older now. when do you stop being young
  13. With big enough boxes you could make your own. i get card from one of the big DIY stores.
  14. That’s a very nice playlist. a lot of quality there. i much prefer the flip to gigi but that’s a minor detail.
  15. Yes I am well aware of the collectors in Japan and there fantastic level of knowledge. i would say they were buying sweet and deep soul pretty much since it was made. didnt John Anderson compile deep soul lists specifically for that market ? but my point stands it wasn’t demand from Japan that saw records like the webs on popside go on to become fairly big money records. And yes they are a new generation coming through along with some who have been around a long time. i don’t think my low rider comment is aimed at records that were already in high demand and prized rarities more the next wave of 45s that were always more readily available. some of those big money sides may also have demand from funk collectors for the other side e.g innersouls
  16. I think people are more appreciative now than ever before tastes have matured and people have more knowledge and experience. what is your idea of a quality tune ?
  17. Which country first created demand and price increases for group soul and sweet soul ? the lowrider scene which i believe started in the states has seen several easy to pick up 10 dollar records now become hard to find 3 figure records.
  18. I dont think that is malicious just that some sellers dont want any risk or perceived risk. if an item goes missing it would create a lot of bad feeling and all the hassle of having to sort the situation out. And some of these record deals are getting very expensive. some people feel happier only selling in country they live in. I dont think this is exclusive to us brits i bet some stateside sellers are the same.
  19. I have just loaded quite a large batch off 45s onto ebay including some nice lowrider, deep and modern bits sellername ia pushbuttonworld please feel free to PM here with any questions as well if you want to. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/pushbuttonworld/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= thanks for looking
  20. When I was collecting properly I was constantly buying and selling. there was no way I could afford to just buy. i don’t buy anymore and slowly sell but I will always have some form of collection. but selling had got me digging through and listening to records that have been boxed away for some time. It’s been good but it is time consuming. Prices would need to crash to get me buying again.
  21. Roburt (and all other late 60s early 70s collectors) did you have a sense you were at the start of something that was going to be very special, huge and long lating at the time or did you think it was going to be short lived ?
  22. That seems like a strange record to have been played at the wheel compared to all others i think off around that era. the tempo and style of the record must have made it stick out like a sore thumb.
  23. Beams plus and gitman vintage in the sales is my choice. cant say i've even heard of those brands mentioned by zodiac club. just checked out the first one and those collars are a bit extreme for me. Ben sherman ok for 20 quid from tk max hardly the heritge brand they claim to be though.
  24. prices in gbp please PM with questions or to reserve. i will include delivery in uk on orders on 20gbp for overseas it will be based on value of order thanks for looking.
