    When mick h used to run the union on the banks of the Trent there was some brilliant sets played. mick, rob thomas and one other who was also fantastic. was that andy rix ?

    Brilliant record. I have seen a very small number on eBay over the years some were in pretty bad shape. just won’t move I think I may have seen even less copies.

    Add me to the list of people who have thankfully never heard this before. I was late to the party though and hardly any instrumentals were being played. harlem rumble was a big record or was having a revival.

    I have had some memorable tapes and cd’s that have helped me broaden my tastes and expose me to some fantastic new sounds. i probably hold these in higher regard than any Dj spot as i’ve been able to really get to know the tracks. the first time I heard little Stanley the stran in an all nighter was fantastic such a great nighter record. Kitch played it and it was a copy off eBay he had outbid me on.

    Where was that Steve ? were a lot of those tracks being heard for the first time or had butch already got people familiar by putting them on tapes ?

    Almost impossible to answer eddie parker on miko is one of the receords i wanted but never managed to get a copy. Probably that...

    650gbp at todays ER which seems very reasonable to me considering how good it is. i think plenty of collectors would happily match that price.

    Maybe not as much now but in the past the uk had the vg++ grade which i never saw used by us sellers who stuck more with the goldmine grading system so as a result a uk vg+ was nothing like a us vg+ now its good and bad graders all over the place younger sellers may be more used to international standards and as a result vg++ is dying out ? and its must have NOT must of.... of isn't even the right word

    A very well built small record box ideal for selling, DJ'ing with a small selection, or simply storing records. rugged construction all reinforced corners, leather handle, clasp that takes a small lock, sponge padded inner. has been well used so doesnt look new but it is bullet proof and i had it custom built so you are unlikely to find a box this good of this size in any shop. Holds appx 60 records stored in a paper then card sleeve. i am in nottingham ideally this is for collection but could meet somewhere close to notts. looking for 60gbp

    The buyer mentions stafford all nighers in a conversation with john so i'm sure he will have some friends on here.

    Yes i know thats an original i'd have to have been on another planet to not know the story of that 45. i'm saying all the factors that are being checked could be reproduced on a counterfeit. it probably is the early steps to recording more useful data on rare original records and is a good thing but i dont think its definitive and needs to evolve. But its a good start.

    Yes i can relate to that. The dreadful records that always get mentioned when somebody hears you are into northern.

    Was romark considered to slow when it was discovered or was it an instant hit on the scene ?
