  1. Mr X should sell the 45s himself. To be honest its nothing to do with me so i'll stay out of it. People can do whatever they want.
  2. pete its your name next to the prices passing the blame is a bit lame. You should advise your mate that his prices are not realistic. I could list all my own 45s and just say i'm selling them for a mate. sorry to be rude but thats how I see it.
  3. i've got that on an old tape to. Anybody got a tape player for me to play it on... great tune that.
  4. something along the lines of...... vanguards "good times bad times" lamp 200UK that would be priced to sell. and no it isn't. priced to sell as almost as bad as making reference to book prices.
  5. seems pretty reasonable considering its 2007. I remember this having a higher price tag.
  6. how much turntable action has bill brandon "you've got that somethign wonderful" had ? baught it for the deep side but I reckon this is well worth some action. oh and innersouls "thoughts" mellow x-over simply sublime this would be massive I reckon.
  7. tick tick 4 days and a bit less than last post now ......
  8. But how are you going to know the difference ? If 2 or 3 collectors have been holding something back for a few years before they play it. It will still be hailed as a new discovery.
  9. i'd say its got to be worth at least $99 and it may end up selling for more....... in about 4 days and 4 hours we should have the answer.
  10. did you see the copy that ended dec 06 ish on ebay went stupidly cheap imo..... I only saw it recently on popsike or I would have had a bid on it all the other copies i'm aware of have sold for much more. if you want to PM me I know somebody who has offfered me a copy in the past that may still be available but it wasn't cheap.
  11. enough cover ups sat on the shelves of major collectors unplayed yet to keep the scene going for years and years. I see soul records i've never heard off sell on ebay for over $1000 practically every week so thats all the proof I need.
  12. I've had to tape the storming uptempo side which I bet you play out. can't be without a deep side as good as this but its realy annoying that i've had to sacrifice an awesome uptempo side. not an easy thing to have to do but if this crack got any worse i'd not have either side.
  13. whats the longest time you've spent looking for a 45 to add it to the collection. I know some so called big money rarities seem to appear for sale a lot more often than they should but there are some elusive things out there and some of them may not actualy be the most expensive things you have baught. For me a wait of about 5 years has just ended and Timy Shaw on Bon has arrived today. Unfortunately its got a small crack which has just been fixed with magic tape on the flip. But if I have to wait another 5 years to replace it with a nice clean copy then i'm happy to have this one.
  14. moerer has a JV @ $500 is that top end now or about right ? i'm holding out to try and get a cheaper one but its a very good 45. What a singer don't think he's made a bad record.
  15. got that book mate found it a realy enjoyable read. Gives a nice background to the social situation as well not just the music. once I read all the "northern" books I picked a few random soul related ones. I even read a couple of books about disco but don't tell anybody....
  16. seen 4 on ebay recently sell for about $150 to $250 so if anybody has one for sale at the middle price of $200 PM me. Must play well. been 2nd highest bidder twice now there must be a small quantity in circulation somewhere.......
  17. I did read about his ventures into country music I won't be spending too much time looking for those releases. It did seem a little odd to me at first the links between country and soul music but they do seem very intertwined particulary in the southern states. Irma Thomas "Good to me" is a great example of this genre I like that stuff a lot but don't realy listen to straight country. Am I missing out ?
  18. yes got that one one of his "cheaper" discs.
  19. I agree Tony this is wrong and although its a way of getting round ebay rules its wrong and shouldn't be done.
  20. it is quite a crazy game. Sometime the 45s I vaue highly and pay the so called going rate as I don't see one for ages and finally buy one that gets listed. Then almost straight away I see another copy sell for a lot less. The total opposite to what I started the thread abiut but it just shows that you just can't predict what is going to happen. I had a sales tape with that Willie Hightower for 10 quid and didn't buy it as I though yeah its OK but its a major label thing i'll pivk it up some other time. Within 6 months people were seling it for 80 to 100 quid. But for me its his fame sides that I wanted and baught all for less than $10 each. I still think i've got the better records despite them having no sale value to speak of.
  21. I prefer this without the girly backing. Which is the harder to find ?
  22. yes certainly the above 2 I had completely forgotten about those.
  23. Is there one available just beginning to realise this guy made a lot of records. recently picked up what I think is a good 45 by him titled "stop" on Linco and another "you and me together" house of roton a nice mid / slow pace modern 45. Dylan
  24. am I missing something here this does seem logical to me ? is this an in-joke for somebody you know...... trades have got to be worth less as the records you can trade up for the 150 will probably have cost you less than 100. just depends if both people are happy with what they are getting.
