jasons annual show from carolinas, boba, paul collins on solar radio a few i've realy enjoyed to name 3
and the shows larry grogan puts up on his blog prehaps not all soul but a great mix of music.
no doubt missed plenty of other great stuff.
I agree with the sentiment here.
but if I go out (which isn't that often these days) I want to hear the best rarest soul music there is. I want to be educated and hear things I don't know that have that magic about them. Which inevitably ends up being expensive. Que the coments about loads of great cheap records......
trading up could be one way of working towards getting these tunes like this without spending huge amounts of cash but that would takes a huge amount of time and effort. Years and years in fact.
in terms of major players on the internet manship and moerer sites are so much better than all the others.
thats not to say others don't have very good records just don't think they will get anything like the same amount of visitors.
tim would need to invest pretty heavily in site developmenty to catch up.
thats if he wants to ?
I agree with this to a point but still find this kind of thread interesting. Worth discussing IMO.
Thomas Bailey on Stone is one i've never seen for sale and think is very rare. But I wouldn't speculate on a number of copies.
willie johnson on vendellas for starters.
and i'm with gareth on the betty fikes, the deep side its terrific. I only recently heard the uptempo side and was very dissapointed. It left me cold.
the flip is fantastic and on quality and rarity no suprise at all to see this at nearly 100 quid.
uptempo side is pretty good to my ears as well.
is this label rarer than the del nita ?
