  1. Exactly it’s not always about how good a dancer you are but more how much you are feeling the music.
  2. Boots and reissues never impacted prices when I was collecting. But it could be playing a part now ?
  3. Yes but starting price is very high ?
  4. The old guard comfortable with paying big money for what they wanted are all getting old now and how many of the next generation are paying these prices ? They can no doubt fill the floor with several records costing far less that are just as exciting.
  5. Keeping the lights turned on seems to be on trend right now no thanks….
  6. Got that Chris Clark somewhere might have to dig it out…
  7. Another big loss made so many great soul songs. RIP.
  8. I could be wrong looks like it says made in Venezuela on label
  9. that yellow label looks the same design as a bootleg from Holland i have. Not sure which title it is.
  10. I have a copy of this available if anybody needs it drop me a PM gospel travellers “Jesus is watching you” hi sign ex cond
  11. Well it’s shown how much demand is out there where records are priced more competitively
  12. The quality of that film is excellent I’ve seen far worse footage from the 90s.
  13. Is the ike noble its bad issue quite tough ? I only ever saw demos. Or I can’t remember seeing many issues.
  14. So if you sell record for 2k is the onus on you to prove how much you paid for it ? And hence how much profit ?
  15. A good soul record is a good soul record regardless of genre. These tags can sometimes be applied to somehow push an average record. not always but sometimes.
  16. That’s my thought a good stock control system means inventory levels and location are managed to a high level of accuracy with just the odd error.
  17. I can’t imagine the claims process being much fun. Luckily I never to to do it. Worst I had was a parcel to Japan got lost so I issued a refund. 3 months later the records ended up back with me.
  18. This is exactly the point I was making more tracks jointing the genre over time which previously were not considered low rider.
  19. I guess it’s a bit like northern in that respect. Tracks dismissed as not right for the northern scene have been accepted in later years as the sound and what’s acceptable evolves. so todays slowie could end up being tomorrows low rider.
  20. Not sure I’d refer to them as weak. For many they are as good or better than the dancers. some fantastic soul music some are mega rare and highly collectable. I’m a bit surprised you haven’t had more exposure at least to the term if not the music ?
  21. Looks like I read it on here
  22. Prior to that didn’t John manship own the don gardner and sell or trade it to Levine, i’m sure I’ve heard that story told ?
  23. Lots of big classics in the shows that ended 24 and started 25. tunes like that remind me why northern soul is so good.
  24. Even after Stafford the scene continued to evolve. Labels like tuska, the more gritty funky southern soul etc that maybe didn’t break through previously. the whole explosion of low rider sounds which was probably down to CD swaps and the use of the internet. Fully agree on the internet having a huge impact.
