  1. Great night at The Wilton last night just a pity numbers weren't so great.Still I heard plenty of quality stuff & had a laugh a minute with the usual reprobates.......what more can you ask for.So just need to get my head together, throw a few bits of plastic in my box & I can go to do it all again at Taddy. Here's one I managed to sneak on the decks last night............... Cash McCall-I'm In Danger Cadet
  2. Dave What a tune just love it!!!!Never hear this out wish I was going to be there Dave,I'd be straight on the floor Turn it over & you find another beaut..........."Promises" one of my wife's fave records. Cheers Martyn
  3. I'm gonna follow Andy's lead & post an Harvey Averne track as I love a lot of his stuff.I've got this on LP & 45 & I'm sure they are slightly different cuts but that might be just my ears? Very similar backing to "Ordinary Joe". Harvey Averne Dozen - Central Park Uptite
  4. Andy Check-Mates in the playbox for tonight.Love both versions but C-M's just shades it for me,although nearly bought this a couple times. Cheers Martyn
  5. Peter Do you mean this one? This is the one I've got,not got "Keys" though.......................... Cheers Martyn

  9. Tiberius No apologies needed as we are all old & senile on here & keep forgetting what has been posted & if Roy H has is certainly good enough for another outing Cheers Martyn
  10. Peter The opening & break half way through is the same as something else I've got but can't think what.........anyone help??? Like this,is it LP or on 45 please. Cheers Martyn
  11. Gogger Also one of my all time fave tunes, always takes back to been a lad just starting out on the scene..........happy days Cheers Martyn
  12. Another double-sider from me today from Bobby Hutton.I was fortunate enough to get my copy signed by him when he performed at Cleethorpes Weekender a few years back. This shouldn't set you back more then a few quid. Bobby Hutton-I Got A Memory/I Can Stand To See A Woman Two Timing A Man Philips
  13. Mouse & Dave Such sad news about my favourite venue............ever. I've met so many great people at The Wilton with some of them becoming close personal friends. Not only has it introduced me to so many good people but my soul music education would not be the same without all the great sounds I've heard over the years coming from The Wilton dj's & all the info to go with those sounds from some of the most knowledgeable people on the scene.I sit here now with a heavy heart knowing it's going to leave a massive hole in my soul scene but hopefully in years to come it will get the acclaim it deserves & I count myself lucky that I've been part of The Wilton experience. So well done Mouse,Dave & all the other who have helped give the scene one of the best nighters.........ever. Cheers Martyn
  14. Today's outing is an underrated tune from an underrated artist on an underrated label, the only thing not underrated about it is the price........one on evil-bay now for $9.99. Bobby Bloom - Love Don't Let Me Down Karma Sutra
  15. In recovery mode after my first visit to Ad-Libs club in Lincoln & well worth the trip it was. It's a great little cellar bar venue with a great range of music from northern,r n b & a bit of ska/rocksteady thrown in for good measure. Not all to my taste but it all added to an electric atmosphere with a great range of ages all joining in the fun & just loving all aspects of the music, reminded me a lot of Empty Bottles in Leeds.I was surprised how many people I knew there, plenty of the old Wilton lot I've not seen in ages,so plenty of banter flying about which help make a night.Certainly one to put on the "must visit" list if you like the earlier side of the scene. Today's offering is a tune that always reminds me of those early dingy mod clubs where our brilliant scene came from. The Revels - Downtown Kapp
  16. Pete No problems matey,I'm having senior moments all the time Cheers Martyn
  17. Pete Think the white label things weren't of "No One...."Not seen the green things???? Cheers Martyn
  18. Peter "No One..........." is a legit release,UK only.Get it cheaper on LP,also the odd other half descent tracks on it. Cheers Martyn
