Everybody Was Kung Fu Dancing
I've always been of the understanding that most of the moves were already there before the Kung Fu craze came along but those who got involved in it were able to enhance there moves on the floor due to the Kung Fu training & take them to a higher level.I've never believed it was the origins of the moves themselves, always thought they evolved from what was said in the original post? Just as I've had to use my rugby training on occasions with the odd hand off when some Whirling Dervisher has bee hurtling towards me Martyn

The Film - Reviews
Just wondering. From what I can gather from what's been said on here a lot of the dance scenes shot have been cut? So with the film been a success (I assuming with it showing in 100+ cinemas that would class as a success) would it be possible to write a story line that is less dark & more dance/records/travelling/friendship based story & utilize all that footage & explore parts of the scene not focussed on in the film...........Northern Soul II....the happy days I have no knowledge of if this would be possible or even if all concerned would want to?? Just a thought? Cheers Martyn

The Film - Reviews
Well that was a surprise.........when did going to the cinemas become like that, small 50 seat screens, really comfortable chairs that just scream go to sleep & with loads of leg room.Even had a couple beers while watching the film.Shows you how long it's been since I went to the "pictures" Enjoyed the film, thought the descent into the darker side & intensity of emotions are just as I remember it.Yes you could be a little picky but why as on the whole it got most things about right..........did I spy a hand full of rather strange shaped Filon or was that just wishful thinking Having read the book & thought it slightly over did the drugs I was expecting it to be over done in the film but thought it was about right? The only slight problem I can see is for those who didn't go to Wigan,my wife didn't relate to some of the more subtle Wigan references that we all take for granted?Again I'm been picky. So a big thumbs up this end Cheers Martyn

Venues Value For Money
Can't think of a night I've been to recently that's more then a fiver & I would only expect to pay £10/12 for a nighter. All the night's I go to are run by people where it's about the music not making money.I understand that night's have to at least break even & have no problem them making a pint or two out of a night but they also don't need to fund the villa & Ferrari? Cheers Martyn

£25 And Under Dj Sets
These list of some great tunes are all well & good but they mean nothing unless dj's will have the b*llocks to play them.Hence the "under £25" nights on occasions appear, price shouldn't mean anything it should be how good but we all know it doesn't. Unfortunately the mind set of most dj's (& I include myself in this) fall into trying impress with what they have,so the lower priced tunes take a back seat which is a shame but that's the reality? Dancing In Trainers
Patto More times then not I'd go with a descent soled shoe but have shook a wicked hoof in a trainer or desert wellie type in my day without major problems. What I would say is over the years dancing at varied size "do's" with not always room to get on the actual dancing surface I've found a preference to throwing a few shapes on the surrounding carpet?Found I get the grip I need for the odd sharp turn but also allows a bit of slide when needed, said carpet is certainly not trainer friendly I've found? Cheers Martyn

Standard Template For All Flyers?
Steve There's always a failed comp out there waiting to jump on us poor machine-men But if pushed it would have to be done on a hand fed Arab whilst been powered by a foot peddle I'm sticking with Arial Bold I like the straight lines, never cared for those bloody serifs Cheers NGA
-
Standard Template For All Flyers?
All flyers should be on an A2 sheet & all wording done in 72pt Arial Bold type.........so I can read them without my bloody glasses "Across The Board" should be banned off all flyers or most night's who use it should be done under Trades Description Act as they don't get close Cheers Martyn

Never Had It So Good
Have you heard Pervis Lee played out?Sound the dogs dangly bits when I have, one of my fave Wigan tunes is Delites-Lover which is a tune that still blows me away but listen to it at home & it's shite..........some tunes you have to get the full experience of a full dancefloor at a venue to appreciate them?? Cheers Martyn
