  4. I use "keep on talking" James Barnett. It sounds great. Try it.
  5. Motown drums were copied all over the place. Thats a real tribute to the drummers .Of which Sir Uriel was supreme. I am still your fan Mr Jones. R.I.P.
  6. Do you think it is a gay tune? They never mention once about it being about a woman.
  7. Me on the left and my buddy Grevs on the right. Torquay 1974. Dont know who the young lady is though.
  8. Boogaloo Party.........The Flamingos....A girl I used to go with when I was about 14. Local school disco. I can still smell the place. As soon as I heard it, it was like WTF IS this? Still love it to bits now all these years later.

  14. This could apply to the old and the young. The old who left the scene and then returned. The young who obviously werent there at the time. Myself? I was active on the scene from 73 thru to 78. My peak years were 73 to 75 when I and my mates were out every night somewhere in the north west. The critea as to be that you never danced to the tunes when they were at the top of their popularity. I wished I had not dropped off the scene and missed dancing to these five. Obviously the tunes I am naming may have been played somewhere where I was not attending on the night. Soooooo.......... I wished I had danced to these. Fuelled off course. 1. Eric Mercury....Lonely girl 2 Don Gardener....Cheatin kind 3 Marvellos......Something burning ( Im not sure this was huge but I love it to bits.) 4 Cecil Washington....I dont liketo lose 5 Ben E King ........Cant break the news Plenty more as well.
  15. Never one to mince words are you.........and more to the point ...........you are spot on. You make me grin at the vdu.
  16. Bob Brady and the Concords.........Everybodys going to a love in........25 secs of pure northern nostalgia.
  17. I can remember exactly where I was stood in the Casino when this was first spun. I looked at my mates, they looked at me. We just stood there gawping at each other. "What the f*** is this?" we were all shouting at each other. Lots of shoulder shrugging and "f*** knows but its brilliant." The all place seemed to realise too. It got spun again a short while after and the place went mad. You couldnt get on the floor. People just dancing like they had known it for ages. That is a sign of a top record. Of course its a classic. Booted to soon, yes.Overplayed , yes. But if you were there at that first airing.... .......well youd never forget it. Never ever.
  18. Thats a top post sir,.....a top post.
  19. Methinks there are a few instrumental fans on SS tonite. Do you know what I do. When listening to a vocal record sometimes I try to blank the vocals out and listen to the backing track. Motown is the the best to do it with.......so many very fantastics drums and strings.
