  1. Bought a Joe Matthews......Aint Nothing You Can Do at the upstairs record bar at Wigan. Red issue. Thought it had been booted. ( I think there were 3 copies there, certainly more than one.) Think I paid 85p for it. Certainly under a quid. Lost it when I split up with a girlfriend and went off the scene raving on the house scene. Only years later did I think to enquire could it have been an original. On this site actually. Yes came back the answer, its never been booted on an issue. GRRRRRRRRR.
  2. Id liked to have seen Bobby Garret and "I cant get away". Especially the saxophonist doing his thing. File Under A for Awesome.
  3. Ive never heard that before. What a great tune. Grabbed me in the first 10 secs or so. Thats the kind of music I like.
  4. All of " Lonely Girl".................Eric Mercury. But especially where he goes..".GEEEEE.......It seems a shame you pass me by". File under A for awesome.
  5. Pointer sisters........ Send him back.
  6. Levine reviews the disc in Black Music mag late 75. Could be oct or nov. Ive only got cutouts in an old scrapbook I kept.
  7. Pretty sure this was late 75. Levine at the Mecca. Gonna check old soul mags out. There,ll be some evidence somewhere.
  8. I thought it was played at the Mecca before 77 by Ian Levine. I can remember it amongst all the new york disco stuff.
  9. Thanks for the replys. Always knew it was a common issue. Never seen a demo before. Just made me suspicious. Youd think there would be a few about.
  10. Hi everyone. Ive recently picked some records up at a car boot sale. One of which is Swingin Camels on white abc promo. Was this ever booted on this format? All info would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot.
  11. WOW!!!!!!! As much as that? Cheers for the reply. Looks like its going to be sold.
  12. Hi. Just came across this disc recently. Santiago....Feeling Good.....Bam Buu. What would be a realistic price for this?
  13. Levi Stubbs. The best ever. Even the name is the coolest. Ive told this before on here, I used to work with a guy who was into Robert Plant and the like. Anyway we were working a nightshift and I made him listen to the Four Tops all night and in particular Levis vocals. That guy is now into northern. That is the effect that Levi Stubbs had.
  14. Now that made me laugh. Nice one.
  15. no 9. Hi?
  16. I heard Dave Evison play SNATM in the Casino main room during his oldies spot he used to do. 4 oclockish? There were quite a few on the floor too. But I agree youd never hear any of the main jocks play this in their spots. No way.
  17. Theres someone else selling a load . the sellers name is sweep113. Thousands.
  18. Youve got to realise we were all young then and when you were fuelled up this was one of the sounds that got you running to the dance floor. Well it did me anyway. As you get older you realise it as not got much soul content. But phew what a tune at 3am in the morning.
  19. Our Love Will Grow....................The Showmen Cumalabestay..........................Chubby Checker Love em both from the old days, and they still do it for me.
  20. Yeah. The only one I clicked on to listen to straight away. Love it.
  21. Bob Brady.........Love in..............Love it.
  22. I thought it a good idea to call yerself something. I used to think people that called theirselves their own name didnt want to play. I must have been mistaken. My full name as always been on my profile from day one. I,m not gonna change mine. I quite like it.
  23. Surely no one liked Blance Carter...........Halos are for angels? It got played loads back in the day, but nobody I knew liked it. Though people did dance to it.
