  1. From memory Manships site mentions that demo copy is handwritten on most, think Pat mentioned that most were but you're right Nick his copy for sale was printed (as is Marks) so obviously some out there. Personally I couldnt care less which just somebody sell me a copy (apart from that cracked one mentioned )please
  2. Pat Brady had one last year at 100 I think - don't bother It's gone ...but not to me
  3. I've only been to Bisley once & that was a good few years ago, I didn't care too much for the music other than being a great nostalgia trip having been away from the scene for quite a while but the atmosphere was very good & a lot of hard work has obviously gone into making the event a success. To my knowledge the music policy is still fairly well known oldies & as mentioned a regular 200 people turn up plus 400 for the anniversary. That really is a fantastic achievement. However how many of the people who attend Bisley attend 100 Club ? I've been to a few 100 clubs in the last couple of years where I thought the attendance was farly low. Of course the anniversaries bring out the once a yearers but generally there is room for a lot more through the doors on a regular basis. The point of the above is, if the South can't fill the 100 club for what is a fairly small venue would another all nighter playing music that isn't played out oldies flourish on the south coast ?
  4. One of my favourites absolutely superb 2 from Arthur Alexander Show me the Road I need you baby All 3 recommended to me by Randy C. many many years ago
  5. Is the issue of this rarer ? I saw it recently for the astounding price of 400 quid. I got one a year ago for about 40 - did I get a massive bargain or is there a 0 too many on this other one for sale. Great record whichever
  6. Gasher, if it turns up in quantity , why will you "start to worry" ? I'm just curious as to the reason for buying the record in the first place , for the music , or because it's rare and then to sell on later ?
  7. Not on mine
  8. Yes agree Mr T, fair game to play it if no acetate & as you say everyone will hammer it until See you next friday mate, do you have yer rowing boat ready Did you get hotel sorted ? There's a Travel Inn 5 minute walk up Euston Road........ looks a bit ropey tho'!
  9. Ouch ha ha I'm backing into a corner now! Once again some/most will say if people have paid big money for an acetate should others be playing re issues? I think if acetates exist then the answer is No! It's all a matter of opinion isn't it? All i will say is that I know someone who paid a fair bit of money for an unreleased acetate only track which soon after was issued on a cd compilation & was mightily pizzed off to hear someone playing out a vinyl cut from the cd of said acetate, & i for one don't blame him ! Cue the story of Butch,(not sure of the accuracy tho?) hearing someone playing a cut of one of his exclusives & storming onto the stage & taking the offending item off & frisbeeing it across the stage. 'nuff said Yes now that you've stepped back into the murky world of Londons Northern scene try & get up to Solid Hit on 16th, you'll love it mate especially with Maria & Carl Willingham to entertain us + Thameslink all the way
  10. Hi Simon, good to see you saturday but sorry didn't get a chance to chat much. In answer to your question imo it has to be a big NO, the released bits should be played on original, people have paid fair amounts of dosh to own & play it out. As good or bad as it may be it is just another re-issue. The unreleased stuff ? On the one hand I tend to think no problem but where do you draw the line ? You could of course play a whole set of unreleased stuff. All depends on your way of thinking. There are those who will disagree & thats up to them but as far as I'm concerned if originals exist then thats the way to go
  11. Have to say they look good at a reasonable price, but how sturdy are they ? Anybody use one ?
  12. The B&Q boxes are far too big I would have thought for hand luggage? Having said that possibly they do a small size ?
  13. BERNA-DEAN: He's Mine/One Girl In Town, Five Men Hanging Around (Imperial) EX £20 Listen to both sides below - neat double-sider. For the record, Dave Greenhill bought my other copy! .........but don't let that put you off, nice early 60s
  14. Oh if only everybody was so accomodating, can I suggest that you also jump up & down on it a few times, perhaps while leant at an angle against a solid object
  15. Hi Paul Yes it was Randy Mather, at least his name was on the label. When I was selling my copy just over a year ago, he contacted me (through a pm on here)asking for an mp3 as he had no recollection of the session & had never heard the record. Apart from the fact that I had no way of doing a mp3 I had also just sold it & so passed on the buyers name ( he posts on here occasionally ) in the hope that he could help Randy. Randy was only aware of the release on Blue Ash because he had been contacted by various people from europe trying to track down copies &/or info & from my very dusty recollection although he could remember Herby Brown, he had no idea where Herby or the band were ! I did actually send him a PM at the end of last year asking if he had been able to get an mp3 but never received a reply, guess he doesn't read Soul Source any more cheers Dave
  16. Pretty sure Martin Thomson used to play this at Solid Hit Soul a couple of years ago, don't know about anywhere else sure it must have been tho ?
  17. Dithering ? I was just asking a question, I never wanted it mate
  18. Blimey well spotted Paul, I only took in the title, Jive Five yet another I got off of Pete a few years ago & absolutely brilliant, is this a different recording Pete? (I can't listen to clips)

  20. Thanks Richard, how did you do that ? Actually since my post I called Rick to email me a list, cheers anyway Dave
  21. Is it just me or does the list finish at record number 42 ?
  22. That is a shame Eddie as the other side is much the better of the 2 In my humble opinion Dave
  23. --> QUOTE(Geoff B @ Jan 23 2007, 07:37 PM) link Is this ok for ya. Thanks Geoff, Thought there was a w/d which brings me back to my question.... I've a red label demo with Disc Jockey Advance sample on the Girls World side, not on I'll be your winner. Rare or common?
