  1. This chap had just landed halfway up the cliff face in Dover Kent to enjoy the lunch that he had just caught. Not as sharp as I'd like but I was shooting hand held 70 - 200mm (fortunately f4 not the twice as heavy f2.8) looking upwards & being blown around by very strong winds ! I know nothing about birds so can anyone tell me what this is ? Thanks Dave
  2. The Spontanes version is on the flip side of their northern play "Where did I go wrong"
  3. Amazing Steve, I'm well impressed mate
  4. Both pictures fantastic, just interested how you got the background effect ? I know about depth of field but to me it just looks more than just a wide aperture.
  5. lol Sorry just my sense of humour considering the title & giving it to your wife
  6. "Potentially" ........ says it all. As somebody has already said It's just sales talk. Link a common record with a potential 100000 buyers & hope that there's two idiots to bid against each other.

  9. Non soul cd Taff, I think more people would be concerned about WHAT I was playing than what I was playing it from :-) Hope you're well mate
  10. Many thanks The Yank, that's a great help
  11. Apologies because I'm sure this has been done before but how much should it cost approx to send a CD from USA to UK ? Thanks
  12. ha ha yes I know what you mean. An absolute pleasure talking to him, only got to meet him in recent years when he came to DJ at Solid Hit. Everytime I phoned him to ask him to guest for us his appreciation was such that it seemed I was doing HIM a favour when of course it was the total opposite. Always filled the dancefloor as well with top quality rarities & certainly not top 500. A wonderful character & a total gentleman.
  13. To be honest Steve i don't think the post detracts from the photo at all. I think we can all get a bit anal about cutting bits out, if it was a litter bin in the background I could understand but the post is just part of the natural background to me. Guess we all have our own ideas & that's the way it should be Great photo's by the way
  14. You ask him Rob (I'm skipping the country )
  15. Pat Brady a Yorkshireman ? maybe he's keeping it quiet but I believe he's a South Londoner Nice bloke Pat, happy 60th for 7th May
  16. Don't think I've ever bought something that I already had, my problem is when I'm out & hearing even obvious oldies & can't for the life of me think what it is &/or hearing something I've had in my collection for years & can't think what it is. If I carry on like this I can relive my youth as they'll all be newies. might even buy some baggies .....baggy shorts anyway
  17. Haha exactly i've just wriiten something very similar in my post above
  18. We couldn't be bothered really Len, I think Des mentioned it once but the thing with the change was one reason not to, the fact that people will spend xxx amount on a record & then complain about an extra quid or two on admission price was another & we weren't losing money so we just left it. Haha yes a financial advisor may have had kittens. I always used to put a sign on the door "members only" so when drunken suits used to come down I would ask if they were members & obviously they weren't as we didn't have membership (though that didn't stop the occasional one say yes but I've left my membership card at home )but occasionally they would ask if they could pay extra to get in ...... it never worked as it was never about clawing every pound we could. In fact if i knew that someone had travelled a fair distance I would let them in for nothing as a thanks. No I'll never be rich
  19. When we started Solid Hit we charged £5 on the door, 11 years later when we finished it was still a fiver. guest DJs always got paid & in my opinion they were paid very well for a soul night, in fact probably more than at some allniters. That said we always tried to bring in quality DJs from around the country & were worth every penny & after expenses to London i'm sure many got home with just a few quid left. I like to think that with one exception (when we were between venues & rightly or wrongly trying to keep our name in the mix) we always had decent venues with good quality sound systems apart from the first couple at Kings Cross when we used the in house shite system that soon changed. If we were losing money on the night we wouldn't have kept going, mind you we didn't make any either. any profits were put back such as having Pat Lewis & Ronnie Walker live. Trouble is nowadays, especially in London, most functions rooms have disappeared to be renovated & turned into empty restaurants & cocktail bars & it gets harder & harder to find decent venues in a good location. Excuse my ramble
  20. Robert Thomas Salvation Charay (Original yellow of course ) Mint minus £140 + £7 next day insured postage to UK (Overseas please contact me) Cheque or paypal friends & family please or buyer pays fees Please pm if interested Thanks for looking Dave
  21. Thanks Steve, I don't know if I've got this right or not. When I right click on a photo, go into properties, details & then in origin it's got author - My name Date taken etc & at the bottom Copyright - My name. Is there anything else we can add anywhere or is that it ? Many Thanks Dave
  22. Ok i don't use photoshop so wouldn't know how quickly a signature could be removed, it's only what i'd read although if it was worthwhile I guess "bandits" wouldn't worry about how long it took ? Ah yes of course the EXIF data, I have my name in there as copyright. Thanks for the info
  23. i have no idea if there is any sort of fee involved or precisely what the make up is but 500px seems to be used by a lot of people ? On a slightly connected theme, do people who display photos watermark/copyright them ? Apparently photoshop can remove watermarks in seconds (or so I've read) Not that I think that i have much/anything that people may want to "steal" but what other options are there to protect your pics ?
