  4. LOL I thought it was Phils playlist to start with & I was thinking blimey he's got himself a copy of I'm gone but the list just got longer & longer until even a thicko like me realised. Nice one Phil on playlist alone sounds like a fantastic night I'll try & get up later in the year
  5. Hi Peter Put most of this on the 60s thread, never mind It all seems so long ago now , i couldn't name anything he played but pretty sure it was high end stuff. Oh I've been wracking whats left of my memory & just remembered one he use to play Family of Eve I wanna be loved by you, think I may even have pestered him to play it. Still sounds good sitting in front of my computer, wouldn't want to hear it out though. When I first met him he was right into 60s & running the occasional coach from London to Wigan, next thing you know he was playing modern . I was having a brief flirtation on the dark side myself so quite enjoyed hearing some modern at 100 club from Keb amongst others. i don't think it lasted too long with Keb (or myself ) & of course he became part of the 60s mafia (70s mafia doesn't have the same ring to it!) at Stafford & the rest is Soul Scene history

  13. Shsdave replied to KevH's post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Used to go to a record shop in Chapel Street Market London around 79/81 had loads of boxes of 60s/70s Motown/soul/pop but they used to stock some recent imports (picked up from Moondogs I think) & what didn't sell they used to stick in a box at 10 & 20p. Herby Brown One more broken heart Blue Ash sounded interesting so home it came with me, wasn't too impressed at the time
  14. Thanks for the blatant plug Warren but if you heard Joan playing it at Solid Hit it must have been on her mp3 as she's never done a guest spot with us .............................or am I reading your post wrong Do you mean "It's a great sound isn't it " Yes it is
  15. Well known in the 80s, didn't Ian Clark play it ? (Stafford Sound? Manship had it on a tape full of Stafford stuff anyway) & of course Jumping Joan was giving it a work out a few years back & pretty sure she played it at 100 club when she guested there .............. good sound
