  3. How much does that go for Steve ?
  4. He used to have it at £200/250 Mal but think he may have sold it now
  5. Surely they'd just carver them wouldn't they ? "well this comes from an original so it makes it ok surely"
  6. Sure it was on there last week for about a ton cheaper
  7. You were done, it was always a 50 pencer
  8. My first thought was JJ Daniels, no thats b*llocks nothing like BUT ........ have a listen Chalky, there certainly is a similarity. Good spot KevH
  9. .....& for an instrumental version check out Juggy Soul at sunrise Sue
  10. Also in London if you prefer the 60s side of things there's Solid Hit Soul, we definately don't rely on top 500 etc & of course there's no boots etc it's OVO. Mid to up tempo 60s Northern. No funk, crossover, modern disco etc.....Just Northern 5 tracks played by each resident recently Des Parker Third Generation - Our Time Bobby Fulton - Why So Wrong Patti & Emblems - Just Wanna Be Loved Ethics - From Your Heart Ronnie Walker - Nothing's Gonna Change Shane Cox TY KARIM - YOU REALLY MADE IT GOOD TO ME - ROMARK PAULETTE - LOVE YOU BABE - CONTACT LES CHANSONETTES - DON'T LET HIM HURT YOU - SHRINE DEBONAIRS - PLEASE COME BACK BABY - SOUL CLICK DANNY WOODS - YOU HAD ME FOOLED - CORREC-TONE Dave Greenhill Don & Ron I'm so so sorry Royal Chessmen You must believe me Bill Griffin Try to run a game on me Creations I wan'na talk to you Linda & The Pretenders Believe me Stuart Tyler Ted Wilson My aim is to please Locations Mr Diamond Man Bobby Kline Say something nice to me Don Varner Mojo Mama Melvin Davies Find a quiet place It's not only southerners we often have travellers from the midlands & further oop north. Anybody fancy a friendly night in London with top quality Northern in an atmospheric basement with wooden dancefloor & you need a hotel for the night there is one that most visitors use 3 minutes away. Could be Premier Inn, cant remember off the top of my head but contact me & I'll get details for you.
  11. Totally agree Steve, if I'd have travelled any distance to a top allniter I'd have been a bit P'd off at hearing something like that. I wasn't at the anniversary that Mick played it at, my point being that it's a good poppy/soul record available to all for a few quid that I'd never heard played out until the 100 club & then it became more popular at least in the south than Sticky Vicky in Benidorm. You couldn't go out without hearing it played (well it wasn't ever at Solid Hit but you know what I mean ) Just another example of the sheep like mentality of djs. Mind you it gave some the opportunity of playing an original record at their club
  12. Think it was Mick Smith who played Ain't no mountain high enough at 100 club Anniversary a few years back, a great cheap track that you just wouldn't expect to hear played amongst the rarer stuff. Problem was you couldn't go to a night in the south for years after without some dj giving it a spin. If it's such a great record why didn't they ever play it out previously, ? Why the fcuk does a name DJ have to play something before others "dare" to play it ?
  13. Never even heard of the shop to be honest, ah just googled 'em, nothing near enough to make it worthwhile. Ah well have to carry on paying the exorbitant cost of £5 or get them through the post from "find me a gift"
  14. Cheers Steve, every penny counts ..........more for records
  15. Couldn't find them on Home Bargains website Paid fiver each for 12" x 12" from shop in London, not very robust but fine just for the 12" / Album covers & do look great on the wall
  16. LOL He could mean albums John ...........................otherwise I agree with you
  17. Haha yes plenty of those clubs all over mate who proudly proclaim "all played off 100% vinyl" etc. They might just as well play a cd or a laptop if they aren't playing ovo.
  18. I'll go online & try & find it in that case
  19. Now Sold Charles (Mr C.C.)Carlson She's not to blame - Bold - Mint- Great record beautiful piece of vinyl £200 includes special delivery UK only Overseas please ask re postage. Cheque preferred or paypal gift please. Please pm or email david.greenhill@hotmail.co.uk Thanks for looking Dave
  20. The German issue seems slightly slower than all the rest The french issue seems the same as the US 45rpm without the background "live" noise The US 33rpm seems to have enhanced drumwork in the break late on I have the French release & never considered it tinny, but maybe I need some cotton buds ?
  21. Sweet Three - That's The Way It Is/Big Lovers Come In Small Packages - Decca £80 SOLD Not surprised at that price !!! Fabulous, RARE double sider - ISSUE too!!!
  22. Ha Ha with you on that Pete, had a listen to the beginning of the podcast admittedly on low volume in the early hours, of the 5 "unknowns" 3 of them sound like they should be on sounds of the 60s on radio 2, pretty awful pop music with a beat imo
  23. Hi Simsy As has been mentioned Stuart still lives in Guernsey & "just" flies over for Solid Hit. As long as you don't want the top 500 (which from your posts I know that you don't) I think you'd have a great time at Solid Hit. great basement venue, great atmosphere a good mix of Semi Knowns/ underplayed mixed together with better known stuff, cheap / expensive some slower stuff as well as more mid - uptempo. Just a great mix across the 60s Northern sounds. As Des said all the stuff that has always been part of the Northern scene. See you on the 18th October All best Dave
