  1. As I suggested on Face book & having now heard the Green Grunchons this is an exact copy of Jerry O Popcorn Boo-ga-loo Part 2 BL 104 Yes it has the additional Brass & is about a tenner as heard at Solid Hit in London
  2. Wasn't there a weekend thing at Blackpool around the same time ish ...........................................that didn't happen either I believe ?
  3. Not until I've had at least half a shandy would I talk Mace & it would take so long to finish that half you'll have got bored of waiting. Hope you're well mate
  4. Yes it's normally kept to PMs asking for someone's address for the papers to be sent to
  5. Both sides of the Barbara Lewis are brilliant .........would give a thumbs up but it ain't working :-(
  6. I first heard it on a manship tape, afraid don't know the date but it was full of Stafford stuff. Was going to play it at Solid Hit 10th Anniversary tonight but think i put it back on the shelves while sorting stuff yesterday
  7. Is it my memory playing tricks or is Try a little harder on DJM a different mix than the Keyman / Jayboy ?
  8. exactly Gary that's what I'm saying, some claimed it was tinny on the other thread but it sounds, as you say meaty. Certainly when I used to play it it got a good reaction.
  9. There was a thread on this a while back & a lot of people claimed the French release sounded "weak/tinny" & the worst of the 45 releases. I have the French release & to me it sounds no different. At the end of the day go with what your ears tell you.
  10. Very rare, according to someone on popsike there's only 3 known copies, if that's the case I know the three who own it. 2 in UK one in LA but I think there's more. I do know there was only between 200/250 pressed so probably not many about atb dave
  11. Martin although I expect you're talking plays at a big nighter I was playing both sides on the Now release at Solid Hit in London about 6 years ago for about 6 months, a few danced great little cheapie ....or it was then. Never new about Hot Cinnamon
  12. Got mine from Des Parker, he had it at 50 & gave me a tenner discount Des & Pete Smith, good guys selling records at decent (cheap) prices Hope you're keeping well Paul ? Not 100% on the price but sure I remember seeing it mentioned on here that it was going for silly money & sure I remember 500 being mentioned !!!!!!! 2 good sides but I tend to play Tell it to the wind if I play it out
  13. £40 for mine 3/4 years back Hasn't this gone for double this auction price in recent times ? Was it a Stafford spin ?
  14. Is it manship that actually writes all of the blurb in his listings ?
  15. With you on that Ian, it's a fabulous fabulous double sider & in fact the very first record I bought knowing it as Northern Soul on "Million Seller" records from Contempo way back in the day (too frightened to think of how many years ago ) Still have that same copy & never had an original But I just can't get my head round someone paying at least 5k for that record. If I wanted to play it out I'd buy a Revilot copy. if it was something like the Parliaments My rainy day (off top of my head) yes totally understand but this .... ? Oh well I've never been a uk collector.....good job, also as others have said might not even go to a soulie .
  16. Oops that was what I was replying to, Yate All niters. I must have read it wrong
  17. With her group The Vandellas who had a hit with ....& I can't remember what track they mentioned & he said Gladys night Supremes previous name .....pass My minds gone can't remember Richard sorry, check on I player, it's quite early on in the programme
  18. Exactly On another note Gladys Knight & the Vandellas ? poor bloke, surely he must have known it was Diana Ross ?
  19. Yes the Stars & Stripes when I went but I think it may have been held in another venue as well .....The Baths spring to mind ?
  20. Pretty sure CODs She's Fire got absolutely slated while covered up. One of these days must dig out the old mags & expose the modern heathens
  21. & I bet I know who you mean
  22. Ha Ha remember it well, certain people claiming there was nothing left to discover 60s wise, Mick Webb claiming that he didn't need to listen to Kebs spot he just knew it was shit yup its there in black & white or occasionally black &green / pink ..................or was that the slightly earlier ones Steve ?
  23. Joe Boy released it on a "JoeBoy" picture sleeve & was the full length / extra verse version. Would they have re-issued it on Dore as well ? I guess a lot of people prefer a US lookalike & it was the original short version. Hmm possibly answered my own question
  24. Record buying Pete, sometimes you just have to, a desperate need to have that record. Some wouldn't, many would. As for paying that much over the top when a simple search would give an idea of the "normal" price ????????????
