  1. Well you're in the right place! Although many would class themselves as soul collectors as opposed to Northern soul collectors. Good luck with your project.
  2. Phyllis is definitely desevring of legendary status. Her Arista and PIR albums are brilliant examples of soul music, and stand up against just about any other female artists output. Her guest appearances alongside the likes of Lonnie Liston Smith, Norman Connors, McKoy Tyner etc also showed her versatility. A timeless voice. To clear up the New Direction thing - she did tour with the group circa 1970/71 but that was after they had recorded the LP for Gamble & Huff's Neptune label. She then joined a group called PH factor before guesting with Norman Connors and recorded 45s for Desert Moon. Her 1st solo album was in 1977. Here's an example of her perfect tones;
  3. As said, CD only (& it's Darien Keith) from; DARIAN KEITH HORN "EVERY TIME" (2005 K.G.M. CD) (Prod. Kyle Bynoe) Best tracks - "My prayer"/"He told me"/"Move into your season"/"Can't stop thanking you"
  4. My best 2 were probably Fluorescent Smogg for £20, sold for £1,000 almost 20 years ago now. Also, Southern Comfort & Friends bought for $5, have at least 3 current offers of well over £1000 - not skint enough to sell this one yet though
  5. Some varied stuff added today including Daina King "What kind of love", Emanuel Laskey (or is it Billy Kennedy?) on Thelma, & the Jones Bros. on Silver + the start of many more classic Goldmine & Kent CD & LP comps. Also, last week's additions ending tonight including the Invitations "What's wrong with me baby", 21st Century, David Vance, Larry Williams etc Thanks for your time; https://www.ebay.com/sch/phillydaveg/m.html?item=310631461031&pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item485313f0a7&_sop=1 Dave
  6. Added some Northern / 6ts rarities including The Invitations "What's wrong with me baby", Ann Duquesnay "You Ain't Woman Enough", Viibrettes, Larry Williams "You ask for one good reason", & David Vance "Be Mine Again", & many others. Also plenty of unplayed re-issue LPs for next to no money at all, and a few other bits such as Lynn White "I don't know why" etc. https://www.ebay.com/sch/phillydaveg/m.html?item=310631376152&pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item485312a518&_sop=1 Tx for looking, Dave
  7. Things are going from bad to worse. I sent out a number of invoices, (for shipping dicounts) . Some of these went to UK buyers, and for some unknown reason, one of them went was received in French and another in German! Beginning to think this is all too much like hard work.
  8. Adding more all the time, another lot ending soon, many still with no bids, big bargains to be had. I have 100% feedback so no worries there. Super rare Filmotions LP at $49.99 still no bids, and Leon Haywood LP with Baby Reconsider at just $14,99! Adding Ann Duquesnay "You Ain't Woman Enough..." (Capitol), and Vibrettes "Humpty Dump" (Lujon tonight) and some Northern & Jazz comps thsi week. Happy bidding.

  10. Seems to me if Ebay REALLY wanted to solve this problem, they'd just let you enter the correct shipping amount!
  11. Thanks Kev, seems like a common problem without a proper solution thus far. I tried Ebay customer service, about as much use as a fart in a wind tunnel. They basically said that there is no way to enter the correct shipping amount and no way to stop buyers paying this wrong amount (this was after US customer services said contact the UK, then when I did that, the UK CS told me to contact the US customer service lol)
  12. Yes Rod, I'm doing that. The problem being. EBay automatically sends an invoice at the end of the auction, and many people click the "Pay Now" button on this invoice and pay with the incorrect shipping. It's not very good customer relations to then send them an email telling them they haven't paid enough because Ebay wont let me put in the correct shipping details! I can't see a way of turning off this auto checkout invoice when using Paypal.
  13. It's a question specific to the US site, so I think I need to try to contact them. Tx for your help.
  14. Yes John, however that vastly limits the available buyers. You can get UK listings to show on the ebay.com site, but they don't come up on the listings, only in search results, and then only if there are less than 10 "hits" on ebay.com.
  15. Thanks for the reply, I can't find a customer services option other than telephoning the states! Do you have a page link? TIA OK, I've found it, its not available now until (out of hours)
  16. Hello all, I was wondering if anyone else here sells on ebay.com and can help me with a question? WhenI list an item for sale I am asked to fill in the box "Cost" under the "Give buyers shipping details" section. The box contains a maximum value I can enter. The problem being that this value is calculated as if I am shipping from within the US, so is far less than my actual shipping costs. So although I clearly state in my listing both my location and shipping costs to various locations, buyers in the US using the automatic checkout system are paying the incorrect shipping (too low). Is there anyway around this problem? Can I somehow prevent auto invoicing? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is costing me dearly (some items I'm selling at a loss once I've paid the P&P!). TIA
  17. Tx for the question Mike, I'm in the UK, so no ridiculous p&p rates for US shipping. 1st lots end tomorrow night. Added Leon Haywood Galaxy LP with "Baby reconsider" , the super rare Fillmotions LP, Gift Of Dreams "Better days" 12", Billy Joe Burnett "Let me try", Larry Williams "You ask for one good reason", and others. All with low starting bids and no reserves. Grab yourself a bargain
  18. Except of course, it's no good buying cheap records from the States, as the postage fees are now astronomical
  19. On the positive side, I'm listing a lot on evilbay at the moment, since the postage rates now make it more viable for worldwide buyers to get stuff from the UK than the US.
  20. Adding some Northern / modern compilations as well as some big tunes early in the week. Tx for your time.
  21. Selling 30+ tunes on the bay at the moment. I have 100% feedback. Here's a link to them (ending Friday 8th); https://www.ebay.com/sch/phillydaveg/m.html?item=271164568609&pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item3f22aaf421&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Thanks for your time
  22. I love playing "beat Shazam" when DJing, I've got a pretty good record
  23. 2. Is Sammy Acuna "I never found a girl" (New Wave 7") - also released on Sly as simply "Sammy" 3. is YOSHINO FUJIMAL - "YOSHINO FUJIMAL" (1982 MOON Japan LP) (Prod. Yoshino Fujimal & Ryuzo Kosugi) Best tracks - "Freeway 5 to South"/"Girl's in love with me"
  24. I had the complete set up to number 206, but it was getting silly, in that I was buying CD after CD where every track had already been on previous ones. In the end I ripped them all and sold them as a job lot. Got a nice trip to Australia out of it
