GLORIA LYNNE "HAPPY AND IN LOVE" (1970 CANYON) (Prod. Frank Clark) Best tracks - "What ever it was you just did"/"I've just gotta tell somebody"/"Seems like I gotta do wrong"/"Don't tell me how to love you"
-
Nice, any chance of clip? Like a lot of obscurites on my wants list, they've been on there so long, I don't actually remember how they sound!!!
-
No, it's NOT "The book of life" LP (although that's good too). It's this one; SPREAD LOVE "SPREAD LOVE" (1976 SUNSTAR) (Prod. Michael Orr & Carey Harris) Best tracks - "Ecstasy, fantasy & dreamland"/"Here I go (through these changes again)"/"A piece of mine"/"Spread love"/"Keep my fire burning"/"Afterwhile" Quite a few pop up on Ebay. Expect to pay £150-£200.
-
That's been on my "wants list" for about 15 years - Never seen one!

My favourite from her is definitely the Posse 45 from 1981 "If I can't have your love"

Sorry, but I was talking sensible prices (what they can normally found for on the web). Obviously if you are talking Manship prices then double it! PS. He did say the JB was only VG+

Entire Goldmine Cd Collection For Sale (200 Cds)
phillyDaveG replied to phillyDaveG's topic in Website Sales
Just a heads up on this one. 1 day to go. -
Got some of those, but unfortunately don't have any spares lying around! lol. As for the Odds & Ends, that's the one that got my attention immediately too. I've never seen or heard of it, so perhaps (& I do stand to be corrected) it doesn't exist. The other one I'm not aware of is Clydie King on Tiger Lily.

Philly International - The Rare & The Good

SteveH - O'Jays "let life flow". Fantastic record and one of their very best, always get asked about it when I play it out. OK, I could fill about 20 pages with P.Int favs, got all the Phil.Int LP releases. Here are a just a few of my many, many favs; Jerry Butler "Let's make love" (1978) Dells - "Somebody's gotta move" (1992) Ebonys - "I'll try" (1973) Force of Nature - "if you decide" (1976) Futures - "Why must it end" (1980) Phyllis Hyman - "Living in confusion" (1991) Intruders - "Save the children" (1972) Jacksons - "Find me a girl" (1977) Shirley Jones - "She knew about me" (1986) Patti Labelle - "If only you knew" (1983) mcfadden & Whitehead "I've been pushed aside" (1979) Universe feat. Jean Carn - "Love is beautiful (when it's right)" (1991) -
Import is due on almost all goods from overseas at 17.5% on anything above £20. Whether you get charged is however complete luck. I get about 90% of my stuff thru with no extra charge, but occassionally get collared by HMG. When buying records/CDs, the seller will often put a nominal amount on the shipping docket for you to avoid charges (especially on used items). However, this is illegal and so none of the larger sellers (Amazon etc) will do this and will always put on the actual value. If I am buying CDs from the US I will often buy them in 2 or 3 lots to avoid charges (although it adds a £ or to to the shipping costs).

My favourite version of "What does it take" is by the Hearts Of Stone (1970 VIP)
-
Ok here's my 3; Bobby Bland - "This time I'm gone for good" Imperial Wonders - "You live only once" Howard Hewett - "Goodbye good friend"
-
Hmm, I've got an original going spare I might shove on Ebay. Any idea what is goes for now? (Don't say £5 )
-

He has done the following 3 albums (top tracks in brackets); "MAKE TIME FOR LOVE" (1991 QWEST) (Prod. Jon Nettlesby, Terry Coffey, Barry Eastmond, Paul Laurence, etc.) ("All night"/"Make time for love"/"Kissing you"/"Are you still in love with me"/"I'll be there"/"When it comes to you"/"Lovers after all"/"Closer") "YOU MAKE IT EASY" (1993 QWEST - CD) (Prod. Jon Nettlesby, Terry Coffey, Barry Eastmond, Gerald Levert, etc.) ("Let me make love to you"/"Don't leave me in the dark"/"You always gotta go"/"What it takes"/"We need to talk/Before I let go"/"Trippin'"/"Do what you like"/"Believe that"/"No one"/"You make it easy") "K.W." (1998 M.C.A. SILAS - CD) (Prod. Fred Jerkins, Donny Lyle, Louis Silas Jr., Terry Coffey, Marc Nelson, etc.) ("I warned you"/"No matter"/"I don't mind"/"Tell me (are you with it)"/"I love you"/"You sure love to ball"/"Long ago"/"Only you") The first 2 are absolutely essential 9ts soul. As for tunes to play out, then "You make it easy" CD is probably your best bet, with "Trippin" and a great remake of Maze's "Before I let go"
