  1. Not got one (I have the UK made Loricraft - easier, better, and a hell of a lot quieter imo). You need to look at the unit. It should show a wattage rating or a current rating in Amps. The wattage is then voltage times Amps, eg. 110*Amps. Then make sure your transformer is above this value. Hope that helps.
  2. Well are we talking 45s or LPs? If it is a 7", then on average the run in starts at approx 2.5mm from the edge, giving a starting radius from the centre of 85mm. The runout finishes at approx 8mm from the label, giving the radius at this point of 55mm. Using the formula for the circumference of c=Pi*(2*radius) we find that the starting circumference is 534mm and the end circumference 346mm. For a record with an rpm of 45, and a nominal length of 3 minutes, then there would be 3*45=135 revolutions per track. Based on the *average circumference of (534+346)/2 = 440mm then the length of the groove if stretched out would be 440mm*135=59,400mm (59.4metres) or in old money 194' 10'' and a bit. I hereby hang my anorak back on its peg!!!!
  3. What info do you want? Great £5 record, on a 45 and also on LP "A Lonely man" from 1972. Written by Samuel Garner/James Smith.
  4. Could be "You put a new life in my body"? (1977 Buddah 45 & LP track)
  5. He did an excellent LP on MGM in 1965 called "Fiddler on the roof goes latin" (which is funky latin versions of tracks from the musical "Fiddler on the roof"!). Strange idea, but it's works.
  6. No it never did. The LP did come out on double vinyl though.
  7. There are plenty of 2nd hand record stores in Rio. Don't have the addresses, but when I was there, a quick look at the local version of the yellow pages (if you are in a hotel they will have one), will give you places to go. I remember there are 3 or 4 just 5 minutes off the Copacabana beach (in safe areas).
  8. Hehe, that's my youtube channel Great LP bout £120 to £150 and packed full of top tracks. His best "soul" LP IMO.
  9. ££20-£30 for the 45 is about right & about £150-£200 for the LP. PS, Flip it over, B side ballad is a killer
  10. No scans at the mo, but on the 7ts side of things Polydor released some gems; Crystal Clear "Stay with me" Vaneese & Carolyn "Goodbye song" & Mojoba "Say you will" are just 3 monsters that spring to mind
  11. I don't believe so. You should be able to pick it up for £30 or so ("Thinking of you" is the nuts).
  12. Lurvvvvvvvvvvv that version
  13. Never seen/heard of it, PS Yes Ady "Spread the news" was excellent. Pity they never got to make an LP for Eastbound.
  14. Wel it's not strictly a reissue as the LPs don't contain the same tracks. Strangely enough, the "Just a man" LP has sold on evilbay a few times at less than $100 lately. So what's the next big modern soul track from a reggae LP going to be Paul?
  15. More like £100 in mint condition
  16. Some great tracks there guys (though we seem to have drifted away from the "rare" bit)
  17. $610 for a copy of the Sherrell Bros "The price" ! https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110655198116&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  18. Here you go. A day left to go and the LP is currently going for almost $200 (& its only a VG+ copy); https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150572991114&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  19. LP also goes for well over £100, and has done for a while.
  20. nah, probably £80 is a bit OTT. This is just a compilation, it originally came out on an Epicenter LP, that's worth more.
  21. Yes, originally on this LP; JIMMY COBB "SO NOBODY ELSE CAN HEAR" (1983 CONTEMPO VIBRATO) (Prod. Pee Wee Ellis) Best tracks - "So nobody else can hear"/"Pistachio" PS. Miles Davis "Kind of blue" is not only the best selling jazz LP of all time, it's probably the greatest too, taking a genre of music into a brand new direction. A bit like James Brown's "Papa's got a brand new bag".
  22. Ok, got my copy in my lap and the personnel is; James A.Johnson (lead vocal) Jerry Johnson (Gtr/vocals) Jimmy Johnson (Gtr/vocals) Uhorn Santiago (Drms/Prcsn) Arthur Harris III (Drms/Prcsn/vocals) Elliot Hardmon (Keybrds/vocals) Prod; Leo Price/Al Johnson/N.Adams. I'm 95% sure the group were related to Al Johnson.
  23. Released on Gamble/Huff's Philly label. Gamble G-202 "Do you"/"So sweet, so fine". Not the rarest Gamble side, but can be a bit tricky to track down. The Knights & Arthur was actually a pseudonym for Ben Krause, the co-writer of both sides with kenny Gamble. Ben Krause also recorded using the name B.K.Marcus, and had another release on Gamble under that name G-4012 "Does she care about me"/"Hippie of the city".
  24. Hopefully I won't upset anyone on here by guiding you to the EMS forum's new music section, this should keep you busy for a while! IMO it's been an excellent year fo rnew soul music, especially on the album front; https://s2.excoboard.com/ems/83824
