  2. Thanks for the heads up.
  3. I have been looking through my rarer soul box and found a nice clean copy. I wondered if anyone can guide me as to its current value. I'm gradually giving up the DJ'ing and think some of these rarer tunes need to go. Can anyone help please?
  4. Just a quick reminder that numbers are limited to just over 150 we advise getting there early or reserving by calling or texting Steve on 07860 673606.
  5. The final night of Soul In The Bowl. This is a one off last night for this legendary event. This will be just the one room of classic Northern Soul tunes including many that have become popular all over the area after being played by our DJ's at the Bowl. I will be joined by the fantastic Carl Fortnum and my good mates Hammie and Phil Attley. We will be limited on numbers to around 150. Considering we had been regularly well in the 200's it is advised to get there early to guarantee admission. So come and dance your socks off for what will be one fantastic finale!
  6. I'm shocked and saddened by this news. A lovely guy. He will be missed, that's for sure.
  7. Copy now sorted. Agree that it is a great value record!
  8. Looking for a copy on Polydor 7" US or British VG+ or better. Please PM me. Thank you, Steve.
  9. Now sorted. Thank you.
  10. Looking for a VG+ or better copy on Charay. If you have one for sale please PM me. Thanks, Steve.
  11. A Lovely copy of Jackie Wilson on black British Brunswick with original red Brunswick sleeve. A side It Only Happens When I look At You B/W Just As Soon As The Feelings Over. Near mint! £120 plus £3 postage.
  12. I am looking for a reasonable copy on either JayBoy or Mirwood. It doesn't need to be mint but needs to play through clearly. Thanks, Steve.
  13. Thanks. Just had a look. It's probably too pristine for my needs. It looks like it's never been played! I would ruin it.
  14. Does anyone have a copy to sell? It doesn't need to be the best one in the world so long as it plays strong. Thanks, Steve.
  15. Just a quick report on the Saturday night for The Soft Tone Needles at The Bowl. Having persuaded the Bowl based charity, The Swivel Club, to book them on the strength of an outdoor gig over a year ago it is always a bit of a heart in mouth situation when the day finally arrives. My trepidation was eased somewhat by the fact that ticket sales had gone very well and a 300 plus crowd was anticipated. Need I have worried? Definitely not. They were bloody fantastic. I hope someone took some pics or better still some video footage and posts it up on here. To see a packed Bowl dancing and cheering was awesome. The sound was so much better than when I saw them. They were tight and very polished and produced that fantastic wall of sound that only top Soul bands can produce. Even some sceptics came up to me and admitted that they were blown away with the perfomance. To see a group of young musicians with such passion and enthusiasm makes you realise that the future is in safe hands. If these guys are on near you please go along and have a look. Don't take any notice of some of the negative comments on here, I can assure you they are a well worth watching. I particulary would like to mention two tunes that they really gave the full tretment to, I'm The One To Do It, and Lay This Burden Down. Please post something up if you were there and have a photo or a clip.
  16. I will certainly get back with a full report on the night Mike. The trustees of the Swivel Club charity are dealing directly with the STN and all is confirmed. So far over 250 tickets have been sold with many more expected on the night. Luckily 'The Bowl' has a 500 capacity!!!
  17. In a sense the barn is being demolished. It is making way for the stone barns to be converted to living accomodation. As a result the area that we were dancing on becomes the parking area/forecourt. That's assuming they do get sold. So many people want this event to live on so I'm sure someone will come up with the right venue. It is rare to find an event with such integrity these days where the music absolutely comes first. I feel honoured to have been involved at 'the birth' along with Glenn. Add to that the input of the likes of Dave Crawley and low and behold Bletsoe lives on! Let's all hope we will be talking just as positively after the night this time next year.
  18. Thanks. Tickets are selling really well so no problem there. I know live bands divide opinion so I do get where you're coming from. Saying that, they impressed me enough to recommend we book them and I can do miserable as well as most.
  19. Great feedback John. That confirms what I was told. Thanks.
  20. For anyone that remembers this thread earlier, The Soft Tone Needles are booked and will be live at The Bowl on July 18th. It is a charity event organised by a great local charity, The Swivel Club. I have a ticket hotline number of 07738 080470 for anyone that is thinking of going. I am so looking forward to seeing them for the second time. I'm glad that the folks who have actually seen them agree how good they are live. They played a gig at Santa Pod Raceway the other night and went down a storm apparently. I couldn't go as was doing some DJ'ing elsewhere but did anyone see them?
  21. Still looking for a VG or better copy of 'Baby' on Red Bird. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks, Steve.
  22. Has anyone got a copy of Baby on Red Bird VG or better for a reasonable price please?
  23. Sorted thanks!
  24. Looking for a playable copy, doesn't need to be mint. Please PM me. Thanks, Steve.
