What if .... I hadnt done all that dancing...I would have a lot more friends on the scene and paid attention to vinyl I would have a great collection of oldies by now instead of the miserly box I own I visited more venues Ahhhhhhhhh ... I was looking at my box after looking at label scans (sad act that I am) And on my "you keep running away" four tops is a typed label with the name B. Conway anybody know this person? Also 2 others with K T embossed on the middle of the labels Cheers Mand Whats on your labels??? Probably nothing!!!

The only thing I miss this time around is the large ...ney huge venues we used to fill now we're down to village halls welfare halls labour clubs altho I visit smaller venues now I remember the atmosphere being electric in the big venues Nearest to it would be Alfreton leisure centre good atmosphere huge numbers ( for these days) Mand Must admit we have a break now and again when we get a bit bored

PS...... our badminton players were complaining of slippy patches on the dance...er ...sports hall floor the night after the do I organised at my place of work!! Don't know what that could have been Im sure probably spilt beer Mand

Think I will join in at this point Davie is quite right wearing the right footwear eliminates the need for talc I wear Doc Marts (ladies genteel ones of course) when the grip has worn off them they are superb for dancing in When I rejoined the soul circuit I used talc until I got a decent pair of shoes now I rarely use it unless the floor is sticky Mand

Just to add ...I work at a sports centre and I asked to do a soul/motown night I did it and 300 locals came thru the door mostly non soulies we had a brill night and the few of us soulies who attended had the same good night! So Im having another and the feedback from the last one was fantastic I have also converted a few that attended to go to other soul nights locally So it does rub off with the right kind of exposure!! Mand

I voted good.... My reason .. Well we're becoming a dying breed and there are only very few young people interested in it BUT.... I will add that not all media coverage is good coverage.....eg Jazzy B ...who wont be appearing at a soul club near you in the near future!!!! What we need is our own media coverage ...like our own people who can write up a decent article that encapsulates all thats good about the scene now Any takers??? Mand
