Cyndee Peters is a Swedish singer, but she was born in North Carolina, US, migrated in the 60´s marrying a Swedish man, and was partly responsible for popularising gospel/black culture in Sweden. Loni Gamble is from Philadelphia (a talented musician who used to play behind The Stylistics etc.), does anyone know if there is a family connection between him and the legendary PIR Gamble?! Here´s my newly launched blog, where you can read about all things soulful, seen through the eyes and heard through the ears of DJ Melismo First a short introduction to who I am. In the world of soul music I call myself DJ Melismo, but my real name is Mats Olofsson and I reside in Sweden. I´ve worked with all possible aspects of our music - keeping myself busy working as a singer, songwriter, producer, musician, journalist, radio host, radio station manager, record dealer, dj etc. I´ve never been interested in the money making aspect so for the most part I have earned my living holding down a regular daytime job as a teacher, and I´ve also been active as a local politician for the last ten years or so. Back in the day I hosted a soul show on Sweden´s first (legal) commercial radio station and I´ve been a singer since my pre-teens starting my first band in 1981, later touring with a number of different bands performing at various venues and festivals.
