The In Crowd took well over a year (almost full-time) to complete, and even though we had good intentions of writing volume two we simply didn't have the time. We had taken over the running of Manifesto from Ian Palmer, had also published Dave Shaw's Casino, Keith Rylatt's CENtral 1179 and were working with Dennis Coffey on his autobiography. Our involvement with the Northern scene was mostly the era covered by Volume One, and I didn't feel comfortable writing about clubs, records and people I had little connection or knowledge of. Chalky would certainly do a better job that us!

Aologies if it's been mentioned on here already, but Belgian collector and DJ Thierry Steuve has sadly died aged just 52. I didn't know him, but he kindly supplied a mass of rare memorabilia for Keith Rylatt's new book about the Tamla Motown Appreciation Society – Hitsville! I had asked him if he could supply a scan of one rare French Motown album cover and by return Thierry offered to scan almost everything in his collection relating to the launch of Tamla Motown in England and France.
