Strangely enough I came across RH record at home yesterday on the white Challenge demo it brought back a memory of a conversation I was having with a mate about this 45 when a older collector heard our conversation and interrupted us saying the white demo was a bootleg and the original was a black Challenge 45 ,he was inferring he had one ,him being older than us we assumed he knew better (even though he was off the scene this was around 1990) 10 years later or so he became a returnee and was djing at a local do when he was playing Ruby Andrews "just loving you" the quality wasn't good so I approached the decks he was playing a carver/boot ,alas for me, all his credibility went out the window, after me recalling The RH conversation and his castigation of bootlegs blah blah...if I see him anywhere I'll ask about the RH 45 no doubt he was talking bullshit ... dunno if I'll "forgive and forget" though lol

A very well known and knowledgeable respected dealer/collector/writer said to me many years ago Elbie Parker was 'obviously ' blue eyed . I was a bit surprised at the time to be truthful, the more my ears matured I'd agree he's blue eyed ,however I stand to be corrected as a get out clause lol Dave L

Just my opinion but 'lady' is far better than 'lazy ' so get the cheaper copy if you can it may overtake 'Lazy ' even more ...a better double sider imo..Good luck

Different CD than one I have .... mines all male group... though I haven't found CD yet.... the guy in the pic looks like same guy on my CD...

I have CD from the 90s features couple of decent tracks on it but can't remember the name of them.... I'll try find it and see what info is on there Dave L

I received a message off Ernie himself this morning Martin he said the 7 is 'very limited and he was lucky to get a copy for himself after a terrible year I'm glad to hear about the interest regarding the 45'.... Dave L

Real sad news.... Dean was something else with the record reviews (He tipped Towana, Brenda Jones when they were a tenner each and many more)..referring to passing kestrels and dentists even a vicar I think ..was always good to chat to in the shop in Manchester and getting some nice tunes off him.... rest in peace Dean....
